I saw online that Jay Hammer recently died. Does anyone know if that's true or not? He was a good actor on "Guiding Light," as well as "The Jeffersons." I also saw when he was a celebrity contestant -- along with Leslie Denniston -- on "The $25,000 Pyramid."

Sorry I missed this live! Her column was definitely one of the first things i went to read (along with breaking news). Loved her style of writing and the beautiful and funny cartoons of Marlena, her beau, and cartoon versions of soap characters/actors.

I'm just now watching this series. I was born shortly after it was cancelled. By season 5 it was pretty obvious that Kristy and Meredith were the stars and wanted to expand outwards. Kristy started doing movies, while Meredith landed another show: FAMILY ties. Get it? lol.

It is very difficult to find a therapist who understands the needs of people in the community. Recently, in my area the local government has teamed up with gay leaders to form a website of medical professionals that are open to the needs of the community. Brian stated about coaches and therapists if possible please seek a licensed therapist and if necessary a psychiatrist for evaluation for prescription needs and medication management. The local, state and federal governments have allocated billions of dollars each year, but there is a severe mental health care crisis in our country. The Locher Room provides a great service by focusing on mental health issues without judgment and condemnation. For some, it is an oasis to be with others who have the same interests. Alan, thank you for your work in making these videos.

ATWT& GL were both favorite soaps of mine. So thankful that some videos are on YT. It would be great if we could see these shows from beginning to end, like other past tv shows that stream on some of the channels. I know that would be too many years to binge watch but maybe they could separate by decades☺️.💛

Gees alan thanks to Micheal now I am remembering more about how Helen Wagner and Nancy Hughes and remembering the Doug Marland Dan mcklosky mistake with Nancy marrying him so soon after the death of the charecter Chris Hughes but also the quickly dropped dan dementia storyline that started around Christmas 1992 but got dropped right after Doug Marlands death but also how atwt Years later buried that Dan mcklosky even existed. But personally I think Helen Wagner was right concerning she did not ever think nancy would ever marry anyone else but Chris Hughes. But I do think dating Dan was okay and living together would have also did the Doug Marland realistic portrayel of older people.

@@ScottRandolph-dd7dr that I agree on get lucky back together with Elizabeth but serioseky Dan I conner needs to go again. And maybe Patrick mulcahy does not fit with today's gh but remember Doug Marland while saving gh in 1978 quickly got mad and both times he was at ABC they pissed him off. But I defenetely gh and ABC needs Ron back co headwriting gh with Elizabeth korte and Ron and frank Valentini have a great working relationship while frank also has the good sense to tell Ron when he is bieng to ridiculuos hint scott Ron told Alan the story of how he wanted to make Roxy at oltl trans meaning born a man but frank shot him down akd told him no Ron that's too ridiculuos and thank god frank did that where at days because of jim Reilly for a long time there were no guardrails at days but with Janet spellman Drucker I think she had been puting guardrails up again which days needs.as for Ron and frank thank God frank shot Ron down at oltl because look a few years later at gh Ron with frank wrote that great trans storyline and introduced the first daytime trans charecter with a real life trans person and that charecter and trans actress is still there at gh. The lesson here is it's okay to tell a, writer no and get them thinking of something better that's not ridiculuos but real akd something people can relate too even if some say gh is too woke with that trans actress and character.

Yes it did benjamin both are tremendiosely talented but benjamin I just have mixed feelings while I loved Paul Rauch at oltl at guiding light it was his tenure that made me stop watching from late 1998 to early 2002 it was when he rightly brought millie Taggart back to guiding light where it became watchable again instead of bieng over run with mobsters with the Santos family or doing ridiculuos stuff like the reva clone storyline. And benjamin they should have kept Ben reade with Marah because that would hsve fit with the stuff gl was doing when Jill was there and yes Jill was rocky until late 1993 but I have to say once she had help from harding lamay and began to trust her writers she was terrific. And I still can forgive ruining ben reade like that because we a rememeber the Jill days of bill Michele and ben and then Marah returned abs we all thought Bill and Michelle belonged together and ben and Marah. It's just my thoughts but a good example with the Santos family of a this talent but not putting them in roles or charecters we actually cared about think about that Paul Anthony Stewart who by the way is terrific could have been a, suddenly sorased bill Lewis or even a recast hart Jessup after the issues with frank Grillo and benjamin I say that because I watched Paul Anthony Stewart play Casey bowman on loving and he had terrific chemistry with Laura Wright and by the way it would have made more sense with Laura Wright to have sorased Marah with Laura Wright and brought Paul Anthony Stewart in too perhaps with a sorased Ben reade much sooner like 1997 or early 1998. Just my thoughts benjamin remember history always pays and casting talent with characters we actaully care about.

Great one Alan and Alan do it with the improv stuff but how about doing on the Locher Room readings of some classic Doug Marland atwt stuff with some twist like the, episode when paul shot his dad in 1989 and the episode after and do twists like have Maura west with her husband play Julie wendall and Maybe substitute Kelly menighen as Emily with andy kavovit playing Paul again but have micheal park read Caleb question is could Martha Byrne read lucinda. Just a thought alan and get terry conn and Austin peck to participate too so they can experience a, Doug Marland script just a thought Alan. As I loved that atwt benefit read you did back in 2020.

@@gabrielstern4992 Thank you, Gabriel Helen Wagner passed away several weeks before the series finale. The writers wrote a memorial scene in the last weeks celebrating her life. Originally, the producers wanted Helen's character to say the three words that were first words said on the show, "More coffee dear?".Recently, Alan stated that he would love to interview Kathleen Widdoes. @@michaelcdavis7047yes I know concerning Helen wagner I remember when she died micheal it was Ike 3 months before atwt wet off the air I also remember when atwt twice retconned storylines concerning Nancy Hughes and Dan mcklosky. One was the althiemers dementia storyline Doug marland had just started right before he died with Dan. Thank goodness the other happened much later when Chris goutman and Jean pasabante retconned that Dan even existed or Nancy was married to Dan. That I am okay with to a degree considering how Helen Wagner felt about that when Doug Marland made that decision. But the issue was Dougaelajd era viewers saw the actor Dan Frasier play Dan for years. Personally I think Doug Marland did Make a mistake by marrying Nancy off so soon after Don mcglouglin died who played Chris Hughes now I can understand Doug Marlands reasoning with wanting to portray something realistic but I still think Doug Marland could of just had Nancy date Dan without marrying him. Then did the dementia storyline a, few years earlier then have Nancy watch Dan die which would have also been very real and true to who Nancy was while honoring chris Hughes still as I do think Chris Hughes the charecter would have wanted nancy to have hapiness too. Thanks micheal I remembering stuff I forget about with atwt history.
