Maybe it's a controversial opinion but I think this is one of the worst episodes of the show. The show has always been about every cast member equally and this one was the Robin Williams show

It is flat out astonishing that anyone can watch this without realising it's a very blunt satire on the parallels between American militarism and the nazis, I don't know how more blunt he could have made it for everyone in the comments here to get it, maybe it's just an impossible task - especially for the guy saying it's about "socialism"!? Do some basic reading about the director and his background, please! He has gone into explicit detail about this in interviews.

This illustrates how Williams more or less faked improvisation. He, essentially, had a handful of behaviors, mannerisms, dialects, et cetera that he mixed and matched to "improvise". It's the same voices, actions, and so on here as he used every other time I've seen him improvise, just shuffled around.

Kind of dumb to have a guy like this in the film, name him Doof (instead of having a badass name, and none of the other bad guys interact with him. Like, instead of showing him sleeping in his sling, why not have a scene of him and his bandmates hanging out. Or having groupies. This film had so many wasted opportunities.
