Hi Matt, as always very nice pattern. I made a similar version and for imitate the eggsack I used a colored glass bead. Effect, the butt sinks a little bit in the water level and the glittering of the pearl is a additional attraction. Regards.

I enjoy the fishing video after the fly tying. You have some beautiful creeks in Maryland. When a person hears "fly fishing", they always think of trout. I'm happy to see you showing smallmouth bass. A personal favorite.

I say put in your book and call it the Lite Brite. Seems like a productive fly. I really like the fishing segments at the end of the videos. They're a great addition to your already excellent tutorials!

This reminds me so much of a pattern in Roger Lowe’s book, The Greenbrier Caddis.

Very nice. Tie up some extras to save in case you make it up to the West Branch of the Penobscot (or probably most any river in Maine) with trout or salmon. It is guaranteed to catch fish. Also tie some with a bright orange body for late afternoon/sunset.
@FlyTyer194820 сағат бұрын
p.s.from the background sounds, a hopper or cricket pattern would also work on that morning.

I've fished the Savage River several times. Great water and beautiful fish. Do you think that a chartreuse but would work too?

Nice pattern. I think I'll tie some up in size 14 in both chartreuse and orange (October caddis),for my trip up in September. Nice footage on the Gunpowder. It'll be my destination. Thanks, Matt. Oh,I normally use a 6'6" CGR with an Orvis Battenkill, lined DT4F; am I over gunned?

Very nice bright Caddis tie Matt. The Gun Powder River, what a beautiful stretch of water. Beautiful Browns to go with it. Thank you for sharing. We fishermen are so blessed to have these wonderful streams to enjoy. Totally therapeutic. Enjoy the rest of your week Sir.

I like the pattern, Matt. I think I saw you. I was upstream from someone who, in the fog, looked like you. I used one of the Catskill Patterns you demonstrated (I tied) and had some reasonable luck. Tight Lines.

Just got my package from Glacier Wear. Definitely worth the price tag. I did find a nice piece of western badger that would also match your mystery fur. They have some other products that peaked my interest as well.

Good morning Matt. Nice caddis pattern. I have a difficult time keeping my wings from wanting to turn on the hook shaft. For that reason I have pretty much gone to cutting the deer or elk hair to length before tying it on. I can then wrap thread through the head to help keep it over the hook shaft. Enjoyed the footage from the Gunpowder, looked like a nice day. Hope to get out this weekend. Not sure if it will be trout or pike that we’ll be looking for though. Have a great rest of your week. Take care.

Nice fly. There is video on KZfaq titled "Lite-Brite Elk Hair Caddis", but it has hackle palmered through the body. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jL2UlduktZ3ehGQ.htmlsi=VqPfU1SlqEfbJWz1 So you're memory is good.

I looked up the Peak vise. According to their web page you can get this vise in 2 packages, the trailhead package, as you see here. You can also get the Base camp package, which you get the brass set screws, material clip, D-arm (helps with rations) 2 sets of jaws the standard and a choice of either midge or saltwater jaws, the brass riser and more. BUT, You have to order from an authorized dealer.

You can get brase screws, a "D" arm to help with rotation, and a material spring. I there is more. It would be nice if Peak had a all inclusive set eith the extras, idk maybe they do. Nice video!

Appreciate it my friend! I did try it out like this last weekend and I wished I had some with a little bit of weight for deeper water. As is, it works well in shallower water but needs a bit of weight to get deeper.
