It's a Shimano Trevala jigging rod but light power. Its actually a great all around salmon, tuna, and bottomfish rod. Too each their own plus its short which makes netting easy on the kayak,

I heard you buy wd-40 by the case...🫣
@spiltmilt19 сағат бұрын
I don't even know what this means?
@j-swizzyswoll800019 сағат бұрын
I was kidding. People used to say that if you spray wd-40 on your lures and flashers youd catch more fish.

Around 40 years ago, my Brother took me to Lake Wenatchee for some Sockeye. when we got set up there was only a single red hook on the line. No bait, no nothing but that single red hook. I asked him if this is really how we are going to spent our day, dragging around an empty hook, he said wait for it. Wasn't long before I was a believer. That was fun, no having to worry about bait or anything, just take the hook out of the fish and throw in back in the water.

I live in Erie, and our steelhead look quite similar to the rainbow you caught......until they enter the streams and creeks in the fall, they turn really dark, allowing them to blend in better with their new surroundings. Once they go back to the lake in the spring, they change back to pre-spawn color.

Do stinger hooks work in your area? Also, at those depths, do you have issues with their bladders when releasing?

Yes stingers work and yes I generally harvest all fish brought up from deeper than 40' because of the bladder issues.

Great video. Interested in trout trolling with a baitcaster vs spinning reel. Any recommendations on rod/reel, length and action? Thx so much
@spiltmilt2 күн бұрын
I prefer baitcaster or levelwind as its easier to let line out. As for rod length and action generally 6 to 7'6" medium to medium light is recommended.
