Very unpopular opinion here, coming from a gamer... VR games like Beat Saber and Supernatural, absolutely. Not games like WoW and FFXIV. It's not taking a dump on competitive videogaming when someone says it's not a sport (at least on my end) it's just being honest about what is defined as a sport. I don't even know how chess can be considered a sport either.

If video games cannot be considered as a sport because the pro players are sweating and injuring themselves then I'm not considering chess also

It's not just about watching. You also get to play the exact same game at home whenever you want, under pretty much the same rules and inside a league in which the absolute top players are the ones also going to tournaments. With any other sport you either have to coordinate with a large group of friends to get together at the same time to play a match (which is pretty much impossible) or join a club in which you must practice most of the time and only end up playing if you do well enough. Even then pros might just not play in your league so you can't see an exact ranking difference between you. Your genetics also play a big role in many of the traditional sports, whereas with videogames it doesn't matter how tall you are or if you are built like a truck.

This is the problem with todays generation our youth uses these kinds of esports to to stay home and do nothing or even have a social life cause everyone is trying to play video games to make it big but only a few make it and the rest just stay in their mothers basements and have cheeto dust on their fingers.

I just don't get it, people in 2016 are so stupid with this trial by publicity, Freak is not in the wrong here, s1mple was the one who started talking shit to other people like they were close since childhood he didn't know his place, freak just had enough of his bullshit and defended his friends, its not bullying.
@user-ze2pm3pe2e
@user-ze2pm3pe2e 6 ай бұрын
Looking back in hindsight it does feel pretty strange how we overreact as a society, but tbh sometimes it can be normal and easily done to get caught up in that mob mentality in the moment. I think Freak was probably in the right to defend his friend against simple being toxic to everyone first(Simple was so so toxic back then). Everyone was more than likely mad at Freak for being a hypocrite more than anything else. I did find it kinda ironic how we all decided to sort of bully freak in return for him bullying simple who was in turn bullying others. One last thing we have to realise is that they are all men competing at a decently high level in an activity so its bound to be very competitive and a decent amount of trash talk is pretty human, we see it at a decently high level in sports etc Prob overthinking it tho lol so high rn

in my opinion gaming is not a sport but an e-sport, not that im against it but some gamers need to realise that they need to take care of the bodies like workout and such. and about the comment about gamers are like nba players, i think ita true, i mean there's a reason its called *e* -sports rather than a sport.

esports is the future. imagine, in 20-30 years time, the football hooligans. you will always have them, since some people just use it as an outlet it will be muuuuuch harder to defend their position, when club X has 10k fans, and 9,9k are hooligans, which use it as excuse.
