A better explanation in the video would be to replace the phrase "we need to throw in a check when we capture" with: "we need to remove the knight from blocking a skewer in a way that prevents a queen exchange, and the only way is to promote to a rook thereby removing the block (the knight) as well as checking the king. Then the path is open to the skewer the queen." Explains things to new chess players a lot better since they will notice firstly that a bishop check is available prior to this.
@crazycrabchess24225 ай бұрын
I thought it was pretty obvious an immediate bishop check would be blocked by that knight.. capturing the knight is what most people will do; they just need to know to promote to knight. Anyway, I explain further in the full video; this is just a short 1 minute clip of the trap.. I don't have time to explain everything.

Too many what ifs. You'll never see this line in your whole life even if you just play albin counter Gambit exclusively lol
@crazycrabchess24226 ай бұрын
White is making natural moves.. this line will happen because I'm suggesting rare but good moves for black and showing common moves for white. But they are just examples of general tactics and ideas to keep in mind for the Albin Counter. The positions don't always have to be EXACTLY the same for these ideas to work.

Instead of bishop to h2, it should be knight to g4, that way queen moves out of threat anywhere, then bishop to h2 , then white king moves h1 then queen takes rook and game over man😂
@crazycrabchess24226 ай бұрын
But then after Ng4 queen goes to e2 and is protected by the knight.. yes black can still play Bh2+ but then Kh1 and black can't take the rook cuz queen is in the way.. white is winning at that point.

Nice variations. The critical line after 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. b4 Bxb4 5. c3 Ba5 6. d4 Nf6 7. Ba3 d6 8. e5 is 8...Ne4 which unfortunately isn't covered. White has to beware from 9. exd6 cxd6 10. Re1 which is in older textbooks, but Black gets excellent winning chances after 10...0-0!! which sacrifices the exchange for an overwhelming position. White has to accept otherwise Black simply will play 11...Re8 after which Black has solved all his problems and has a pawn more in a better position. After 11. Rex4 d5 12. Re1 dxc4 13. Bxf8 Kxf8 it is clear that White is in a lot of pain. White's queenside is totally paralysed and Black's pieces will quickly swarm the position (Bf5 or Bg4, Qf6, Rd8) while also having a strong pawn center that is ready to advance. Better is 10. Qe2 which prevents the exchange sacrifice but also prevents White's queen from going to b3. Black can continue with 10...Bf5 or Qe7 and keeps the pawn. White still has some initiative going for practical chances but the computer prefers Black.
