When you fish fletchers and your spinnerbait gets occasionally snagged, what kind of lure retriever do you use? I dont get snagged much on fletchers cause as soon as spinnerbait hits the water,im reeling but occasionally it does happen and i just wondered what you used. I have a telescoping lure retriver made by frabill but you have to be almost on top of lure for that to work which is a tough task in the wind

I actually don't have a lure retrieve but usually if I get over the snag I can either reel down to it and pop it off with the rod tip or I can get it to come off when I'm on the opposite side of the snag

You know I am going to ask what lake this is LT? I didn't know any of the inland lakes had smallmouth up there. I'll be up the week of June 10th with my kayak if your around.

Theres alot of smallmouth inland lakes up here. This is vanetten, Hubbard, grand, long, cedar, and beaver are also good for smallies

I was sight fishing from shore on a local lake. They were having a tournament that day. I was killing the 3 to 4 pound smallies on their beds. A boat came over and started hollering at me. " This is a tournament today, you can't be catching all the fish".. I laughed at him and caught a 4 pound one. He couldn't get them to bite on anything. I was using an 8 inch blue and pink worm, Texas rigged. No weight. Drag it through a bed and bammmmm.

That's my favorite of the backwaters, fish the weed flats and stump flat for bass, pike, and dogfish. Drop offs in the bays for big panfish

Spinner baits on the flat that goes way out in the middle just down from the launch, the stump flat I use weedless frogs or freedom Baitz barracudas rigged with no weight on a 4/0 bass hook
