YSL style is eternal indeed. What he created in the '60's is as modern, relevant and ageless as it is today. Only done better.

I believe Camondo was an early client of Durand Ruel and purchased several paintings from the school of 1830..

Balenciaga was indeed the master. Did he ever claim his inspiration came from these paintings as described here or was this just a hook for this exhibition?

Absolutely gorgeous documentary, I am almost unable to comment. It is so beautiful. I’m home, so I strive to make beautiful clothes for myself whenever I go anywhere. These are so inspirational. What is not inspirational is what the house of Balenciaga has been doing lately. I’m sure it is now well-known. I did not see a lot of it. I have read about it. I realize we in fashion move forward and try to make things that are current. But there is nothing current about bad taste. And design features and themes that are so far from the beauty that Balenciaga tried to create. No, we cannot go back and re-create those things, but we can create Art that speaks to the SOUL,! For both the wearer and the observer❣️ please let us know forget why we create it is to uplift us, and take us away from the mundane that we must toil in at times in order to create to begin with 🌹

That was excellent! When i go to Paris this is the first place im going. Its like Versailles would look if it had all its furniture! I also relate to the owner. I too have had a chaotic life and now live alone in a home filled with antiques. I actually collect Sevres myself. I cant control what happens in life, but i can control my surroundings. I like them to be beautiful and calm. I like old things because i can imagine all the other people who have owned these things using them and traesuring them and then i dont feel lonely at all.

How come a documentary presents Guarneri before Stradivari is beyond the pale for me, as if Guarneri had to "worry" about the "newcomer" Stradivari... please, fix your timeline, at least make an effort to understand history altogether.

@4:26 "imperium"?!?! Is that a euphemism for 'imperialism', designed to soften the edges of the infamous cruelty of conquistadors?
@enekoeneko695 ай бұрын
The ones who were really cruel were the indigenous people who ate the hearts of the captured prisoners.
