Hey Chris, that is very slow tempo, 6-8 counting seconds. It would be better to do a concrentric motion in 1-2 counting seconds then if you want to do a 3-4 counting second ecccentric fine but science has proven that slower tempo than 3-4 counting seconds does not help at all with strength or hypertrophy. Concentric or up: fast as you can up to 1 or 2 counting seconds and eccentric or down 3-4 counting seconds but not this slow. All this slow is doing is tiring you out so you have to stop before the targeted muscle fails. Just trying to help Happy Lifting

Powertec is an okay company but better for beginners or light lifters, I think. They dont offer on their equipment the fit and finish I like and they also are not good with the little details, Ex. the limited holes they have, stickers used for numbering instead of laser cut numbers, 12 Gauge steel used instead of 11 Gauge steel, etc. As I said they are an okay company but definitely not a top tier company like REP, Rogue, or Fringesport. All the faults you mentioned comes from poor design where as with a high end company those faults would've never been an issue. I don't see how you even work out with all those things going on, I'd have to sell that piece and start over.

I'm the same age and also ski. The technique is not lost, but leg strength is less, so I ski carefully and with less speed. My biggest fear is kamakazees with little control. A collision would end it all and these kamakazees think they know what you are going to do next. That is why we ski on flatter runs (or steep enough that kamakazees realize fear).

Avoid skiing during peak season, holidays or weekends. If on weekends, then at night, where there is lighting. I do this, even though I’m still younger.

Shoot. I didn't get that memo. 60 and still hard charging on a ridiculous pair of Atomic Metron EX's. I'm not stoked that the season is rapidly winding down where I'm at, but it's time to get back to flogging the mtb on the local peaks, ramping up the trail running mileage, and getting back to the Grand Canyon for a few runs.

What was the reason for ‘losing’ the low row cable position?
@chrisallenworkingoutathome2 ай бұрын
This is an older powertec, the low cable on the machine is about knee height, won’t work for a belt squat.

How are you to increase resistance in a recordable way?
@chrisallenworkingoutathome4 ай бұрын
I am not. Bands won't ever provide that level of detail. One can add reps to a point and then use a bigger band or add bands. Need actual weights to get numbers .

Where do you get your’timing’ data from? Is it from after watching your recorded workout? I’ve never seen a failure set like this only reps to failure. Cool concept

Yes I watch the workout and get the length of each set in seconds. Thanks for the question.

@@chrisallenworkingoutathome I might try this method on a 4-6 week split. I feel discouraged when I’m not jumping in weight lifted but going through the motions will be the factor in stimulating the muscle to get there. Very interesting. Helps focus on doing the ‘work’ no matter the outcome.

Couldn't agree more!
@DavidZMH5 ай бұрын
The X3 system works even though I don’t agree with everything JJ says. If you do end up buying the system like I did, you will have to treat it like any workout. Progressive overload and working until failure. Along with proper diet. Calorie surplus for gaining weight and muscle. Calorie deficit for losing fat. You may have to do multiple sets even though the program tells you to do only one.
@chrisallenworkingoutathome5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, with bands, many pulling movements are the hardest where we are the weakest and easiest where we are the strongest. I think a combination of free weights plus bands works well.
@jreda20005 ай бұрын
The leg extension exercise problem can be fixed by using smaller weight plates try a 25 or even 10's. Sure you will need to add more plates, but after the first one or 2 plates, you should be fine with the 45s again. If you are halfway handy, you could drill a couple new holes where you want them. You could even make smaller holes and use a piece of rebar as the pin to hold the arms where you want them. Sure, not ideal solutions, but they will correct the problems you identified.
