So rare, thanks so much for posting this. Wow. I gave this one on vinyl and used to play it on heavy rotation. What an era. Scofield was my hero since his Miles stint, but all these cats are just amazing 😍

Jimmy had to introduce all of Russell’s work “ it’s another song by Russell….it’s Russell night” If only more bands had this kind of positive energy 🤣
@fantomasfanto846910 ай бұрын
this band is magical why doesn’t the label release a montreaux box set of all the music performances over the years? They must have played more than once there. 😭😭😭
@fantomasfanto846910 ай бұрын
Robben is so goated and when he started the group - he left Russell Jimmy Ricky with their own way in music to tour and record together. It’s like the father knew he couldn’t stay even though he loved his family TY Robben for your smart intuition to hire them for your solo debut. 😭😭😭

Very nice playing and strongly influenced by Gary Burton's original quartet with Larry Coryell.

Wow man. This takes me back. I was a young drummer at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Robben and the Yellow Jackets blew my mind. I stumbled upon them the night before the concert when they were rehearsing at Mountain Recording Studios and the back door was open. I was coming back from a gig and they invited me in to check out the rehearsal. Sanborn was there as well. They couldn't have been nicer to me. Thx for sharing this Mr.Martinfg

How is that Mike Stern? That is Charles Johnson. Michael Paulo is amazing sax player. Talk about underrated. Bobby Lyle - great orchestration. He is the musical director.
