Hello! No need for concern, work has just been really busy and I have just moved to a new house so things have been quite chaotic. I'll have new stuff soon! Thanks for looking out for me :D

Hi Grady, first of all thanks for your videos. You probably couldn't notice this comment but still I choose to share my real thoughts about this channel. Me as a rookie game artist have watched all of your videos carefully, thinking about how am I gonna sharp my skills through your vids. It's probably one of my best surprise this year to find an artist who is willing to teach things with all detailed art skills, painting process and his own thoughts about how to be a better professional concept artist. (I paid a lot to learn game art 2 years ago then I found I learned much more from you XD) Ngl I was at an emotional low point few months ago , starting to doubt my abilities of being an artist, questioning myself should I stick on the game industry or just go back to be an architect again. It's your words remind me of my passion for painting. Just keep practicing before thinking about money or finish smt really cool stuff. Once again thank you ,wish you all the best!

Thanks so much for this, it really made my day :D I am so so glad anytime I hear from passionate people like yourself who are resolved to keep pushing forward with their art :) The path is full of doubt and sometimes it can feel hopeless no matter what level you are at, but there are always breakthroughs around the corner if you keep moving forward. Thanks again, and I really wish you the best.

I watched every single videos of yours in just a couple of days. Just wanna say a huge thanks for all the great tips and tricks that you're sharing. That's sincerely extremely helpful to watch. I can finally say that I understand some concepts that I struggled with for years. Thank you so much, you are a really good teacher (and artist in general) !

I've been through several of your videos and loved them all! I had been looking for more real-time painting videos. Timelapse is great but sometimes I want to be able to see the deliberations and experimentation as they happen. I'd say even if you don't feel up to commentary, if you recorded your work and just selected certain phases to keep in realtime, timelapsing the rest, and upload it with music it would be great IMO. The commentary is good but I know it takes a certain energy and thoughtfulness you might not always have while deep in work.

What type of iPad are you using? And are you using an apple pencil? I've been looking into getting a newer iPad that is actually compatible with the pencil. I love your content and your art, you've inspired me to work more on buildings/landscapes- thank you.

So happy I found this! I’ve always struggled with environments and I would love to be able to make them but I find it so hard to move on from the blocking phase. Always kind of got stuck once I hit that muddy phase that you said “looks really bad but you need to just keep going and give it time”. This really helps!

If there's anything I've learned in all my years of art studies and tutorial watching it's that there is no "right way" to go about your art.

I gotta say, your work is SO good. Also, your videos are well above and beyond anything else anyone is doing with environments on KZfaq. Yes, others are doing great tutorials, but the quality of your work is top notch. I think it's your light and atmosphere. So good 🔥

I have to say, I've watched a LOT of videos about environment painting. I would get inspired and go and try it myself and it would come out horrible - granted I'm mainly a character artist - but I would get discouraged. This video and the part before have both had stuff in it I've never heard before from any other painter. Perhaps it was obvious to other people but your advice about where to place your values is literally revolutionary to me. I would go into my paintings with ideas about atmospheric perspective and making sure my foreground was dark and my background light or vice versa. But your advice about placing the light thoughtfully and strategically to create interesting shapes rather than just lumping different forms together with a single value makes SO much sense. It's really the same with painting characters. I feel like you've totally rewired my brain when it comes to thinking about landscapes, and I'm hyped to try this method out in my next sesh. The stuff you're sharing is so valuable and it's awesome to watch you make art. Seriously keep up the good work!

This is one of those pieces of "art" that, when looked upon while being close enough, you can see how simplistic and poor-quality it actually is.

Thanks for this video. I find that separating into just two values with light and dark is difficult for me in scenes with dense foliage, like forests. Going to try to remember these tips for when I try to tackle that again
