It’s a prison that you can find on Google Earth as “Estabelecimento Prisional de Lisboa”

It's an old style XIX Century Penitentiary, with the kind of arquitechture then used in which one central station surveys all alleys simultaneously. It is still very much in use and always full to capacity. Conditions inside are said to be appaling and suicides are not uncommon. There were talks of demolishing it but, among other issues it is considered to be National Arquitectonic Patrimony.
