You HAVE to listen and be mesmerized by her. She pulls you in. Her soul comes right through every word she sings. And those harmonies and melodies are brilliant and only hers.

Another Gem , Life ain’t so easy when your Ghetto Child.. That skit and Phillip goes through the stratosphere with those notes. All these Grammys these days giving them away like candy couldn’t hold a candle to these groups of the seventies. That’s supreme talent honed in the neighborhoods from which they came. It makes you be proud to come in the era of the 60’s and 70’s. Remember time after time these groups and men or women boys and girls , they gave you all they had and left it on the stage. And don’t forget all those great bands who played. What a show. And Phillipe came with that great improvisation.. LB Boomer Sooner July 25, 2024 Thursday morning 10:11am

I went searching for sons by the Spinners the love version. Last night late I was lying on my bed all of sudden Phillipe started going off like he was in church .. What happen ? Well the Spirit of Lord hit him and he wanted to share what he felt. He danced across the stage as was in a small church house and people witnessed greatness..He took what was an easy listening songs into I just want to testify .. And I do ? What a show.. one of his guys Phill let’s go. No? Phillip says and snatches away as if to say , Let me go the whole spirit got me and I can’t stop till this whole place feels the spirit . I repeat never be another one . We had some great one but the Spinners is one of the best ever. All that with impeccable dress. A mighty love..LB Boomer Sooner July 25, 2024 Thursday morning 10:01am A might love..

That backing band was something else. That groove would have the dead rising up and jamming. I can why the other acts joined the stage at the end as it was closing. You can't help but move. That was perfect to fade it out as the band was still playing.

It is sad, absurd and intentional that Jamaicans and Puerto Ricans, are trying to co-op our music and culture while disrespecting us and being obsessional jealous against the most famous and influential blacks (FBA) on earth. So glad I am a FBA - we don’t need you coming into our culture with petty jealous lies. We respect your cultures. Please leave us alone!!!! And FBA The world is with us…I have been reading hundreds of comments and they know who created RAP and HIP HOP - Black Americans We FBA thank you for getting it right!!!!!

i an watching a documentary about Leonard Cohen called "Hallelujah Leonard Cohen a Journey a Song" At one point a poster appears showing Leonard's name on top along with others. The only name besides his I recognise is The Kinks. I decided to investigate the others who seem to be many countries and that's what led me here.

I have watched that last performance countless times and each time, cry a lot of tears. Paul had a unique ability to connect with every song he sang and in turn, connect with his listeners. May he rest in power. I'm so grateful for his gift.

Gotta listen to the original studio version to see if this is overdubbed. I'd like to believe it's live w/the Tonite Show band backing him up. They were quite an outfit. Doc Severenson.

Donny is so amazing. One of the greatest voices ever. The first time I heard The Ghetto I was completely blown away by the melody, his voice, the grooves. One of the best songs I've ever heard, and certainly the best bassline. It still drives me nuts every time I hear it, a surefire Number 1, shoul'dve won a grammy. The live 12 minute version is also absolutely ELECTRIFYING. Such a shame there's not alot of footage of Donny, and he isn't as well known as many of his soul peers, like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder etc (both deserving). He deserves more recognition as a singer, songwriter and musician. It's so sad he died so young. He was a sensitive, talented, special soul. Bless him. Love from Australia x
