My Forester with 48k miles failed the TVC and agency at beginning don’t want to replace the part as warranty, but after a little pain accepted and working normally

Ive got an 88 f350 7.3idi and my fuel filter light just started coming on when i go over 2k rpms or more. Changed out my fuel filter, cleaned my facet lift pump and still the light comes on and off. Truck runs perfect. Im thinking its that fuel filter vacuum indicator switch that you had explained in this video. Mine could be going bad.

Bless you for your patience and good luck getting it back together. Is the 2024 Crosstrek still a problem or has their "fix" remedied this issue? On the verge of buying a Wilderness model but this has me hesitating. Thanks in advance for your reply.

That nipple on your fuel line is the bleed line that helps bleed air from the system. Cuts down on how long you have to crank when changing filter.
@gerardoroiz6449Ай бұрын
Hi thanks for the video , one question if you already change fuel filter what can be the reason of fuel filter light on when you are in a hill its turn off when you stops a little bit. Sometimes it flashes thanks in advance..
@ChaosExplainedАй бұрын
@gerardoroiz6449 Without looking at the electrical diagram it's hard to honestly tell you. That light is basically coming on because it's telling us the fuel filter is clogged or needs to be drained of water. When is light comes on you should be able to feel an intense engine hesitation there are several causes for this. One could be of a pinched or damaged fuel supply or clog in the line most likely the filter. Best of luck

This is the Aisin Warner F21 tranmission. It uses the mercon V fluid and not the LV. I am going through this now myself due to a leaking line. Sounds difficult to do the filter change.

I listened to this about 15 times before i finally understood that the temp switch has a hot wire running to it, and when the engine is cold, the switch is on, sending voltage to the fast idle solenoid and timing advance. Then, when the temperature reaches 144 degrees, the switch opens and shuts off the fast idle solenoid and the timing advance solenoid.

This should have been a recall. The problem is widespread and even the “re-designed” part will fail because it’s still polycarbonate plastic. I was just about to buy a 24’ Forester and went with a Honda CRV instead.

A think they have an extended warranty 150k millas or 15 years so you can have a new part, but the labor not

My Forester 2020 died at 46K miles with no prior warning and 6 lamps alerts and all the Eye Sight, Back sonar, and Si-Drive disabled, the issues is that the Subaru agency do not want to register as warranty ¡¡¡

What were (if any) the warning signs that led to the failure of this part
@alanlangley72462 ай бұрын
no heat, you have about 3 or more lights flash on the dashboard its caused by the heat cycle/cooling over and over time the plastic will crack

@emiliog.44322 ай бұрын
Why Subaru? Why complicate a part that doesn’t need to be? A bad repair can lead to engine fires? That foam cushion will soon rot. The plastic tcv will fail again.

That is an absolutely great question. I wish I had all the answers. Hang in there

There’s a service bulletin and extended warranty on it but i wish they did a recall. My 2021 outback is 29k+ miles right now and I no longer feel comfortable traveling far in this new vehicle because of this. It would have been better if they did a recall so they can replace it now so i be more confident in traveling with it. It’s basically a matter of time before im stranded somewhere so that subaru can then fix it. Supposedly with an updated TCV but its still plastic. Like that’s going to be more reliable 🙄 No wonder in the 2024 or 2025 vehicles, subaru went back to traditional mechanical metal TCV. Keeping it simple to accomplish the same thing is more reliable. 8 min mark talks about the cooling system. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a5yKdZyTusu-c5s.htmlsi=jrC69BnMAfXBR1KT
