Some men lust after women who are modestly dressed. No one's talks about harrasment of women in the church....it's usually swept under the rug.

Thank you brother for setting the record straight! Satan has corrupted the minds of young people so much that nudity is considered NORMAL and socially acceptable to most and nobody wants to be the whistleblower because they’re afraid of getting rebuked for being “too religious”. These same people that call sanctification and purity extremism are the ones promoting sexual indulgences and sexual liberation against Gods purpose and boundaries for human sexuality!! Thank God for pastors that do not tolerate Jezebel in their churches and want to promote sanctity and not sin!

Perverted females are sexually harassing men and boys through their wicked clothing. As women we need to teach and even chastise each other to do better. I’m so sorry to all the males who have been harmed by those of us who have been selfish and demonic with our fashion choices

I agree 100% but there is just one thing to remember. Some people coming may be new in their faith and need sanctification from the Holy Spirit or may actually not be Christian but looking for God. And it may take some time for them to get there. We have to avoid to judge, to love them, and let the Holy Spirit work in them. But if it’s what is happening for any Christians at the church then we do need the pastor to stand up and tell the truth like this pastor did.

I was just in a debate with a female Decon (pastors assistant i guess you’d call this position?) of our church via text over this tonight!! I asked her this: “ I don’t know how the church feels about this topic, but going to the other churches VBS ( vacation Bible school) there are mothers who refuse to wear appropriate clothing around impressionable youth and married couples. I’m not sure if we need to see their cleavage pushed up and bootys hanging out of short-shorts?? I believe taking your children to Christian activities should mean that you don’t have to be subjected (FORCED) to view sin, we get it flaunted in our faces enough everywhere else 😢 Perhaps smithfield baptist VBS could stand for more VISUAL morals and values for our youth and families who are trying to get away from the pagan world ? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏” And her response: “ Ugh not good, but I can see why the churches want to welcome everyone (as they are sort of…) So many local folks have different ways of dressing, it can be surprising. “ She Totally ignored my concern I’m not happy that churches don’t demand more from females! Like Eve sinned in the garden, we should strive to do everything we can to do better than that !!!

I found him a little harsh, but he was right. I suppose the intensity might help them to remember, although I thought that was what the Holy Spirit was about. To remind people. I still don’t get the gentleness thing. Did he actually point a single person out in front of everyone?

Typical of many IFB and Pentecostal churches. It’s the woman’s fault that a man is tempted. He has unbridled lust that apparently he has no control over and no ability to ignore or turn away from temptation. Because even if every woman is clothed head to toe in a big burlap sack women out in the world will still dress promiscuously. He needs to guard his heart, mind and soul with the Holy Spirit and stop blaming women for his lustful thoughts. I’ve been married 33 years and I do not linger on watching other women in person or online. Grow up men and contain your lust for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!

I think there is a more loving way to get the message across and that is with the more mature women teaching the younger ones. Titus 2:3-5. Perhaps in a women's bible study or ladies group or something. I'm sure there were some ladies in the congregation that just wanted to hide. I just wonder if more damage was done than good.

Woman here- this is fantastic!!! Thank you, pastor! There is so much misunderstanding from the world, they think this message is saying women should wear clothing head to toe, or women are to "blame" and are solely responsible for men's thoughts and actions. That's not what this message means!!! It's saying we as Christians shouldn't be focused on bringing any attention to ourselves (especially the inappropriate kind), and how we dress reflects our heart. Why on earth would I as a Christian woman want to cause a man to be distracted in the wrong way? When I was single, I desired for a godly man to find me attractive based on my walk with God, my personality, and my modest style. We must ask ourselves: WHY do we go to church? Is it to find a spouse, or to bring honor and glory to God and grow by encouraging one another by the Word? I think this pastor's message is spot on. It's not about controlling how women dress or how men behave, it's about encouraging and cultivating a safe place of worship for everyone (men and women) to come together and not feel like they're stumbling with every glance at another person.

It’s high time these Pastors start issuing a business dress code for their congregation instead of having people dress “just as I am”. When that concept started in the ‘90’s, how is it working for the church now ? You wouldn’t dare go into a court of law dressed in a kiss t shirt with ripped jeans or in a mini skirt. So why in the world would you enter the house of the Most High Judge looking like that ? I blame the pastors for not taking a stand. And stop blaming the opposite sex for everything. Change comes from within.

Women do not understand testosterone in men....they don't understand the power of testosterone, which most men keep well into their 80's. Women suffer with menopause and declining estrogen levels and yes, that's tough but retaining the power of testosterone can be even worse. I've seen mostly young ladies dressing with so much skin exposed that I'm ashamed for them.....yes, we look away but the images are burned into the psyche and the temptations mount. Parents, please do not allow your young people to enter a sanctuary dressed to show off, titillate or to mock....please. Thank you.

I don't believe in the devil, god or jesus or heaven and hell and I don't go to "church" hell no!! When my husband died, I was told by grief councillors, friends and and literature given to me by palliative care after care, that the best places to meet someone and move on is the grocery store, community organizations, volunteer groups and the best place of all CHURCH! Because you will only find men of high morality in places of worship. Again HELL NO!

*cringe* *akward* Right message, wrong venue. How many women were unnecessarily made self-conscious in this ""service" and never came back? Modesty is a good lesson that could be taught in women's group or children's class, or just discussed among women rather than in the general assembly that is mixed. Shows poor judgment on the part of the pastor.

My wife and I were visiting a large church once and a beautiful young woman was sitting in pew in front of me. Her dress was very short and tight fitting. I had a lot of difficulty keeping my attention away from her. I love my wife dearly. I agree 100% with this preacher. This type of distraction is everywhere you go.

Yes, women are instructed to dress modestly. Men should not have to fight temptation in church. But James 1:14 (KJV) says: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of HIS OWN LUST and enticed. So it seems like men have a responsibility here as well. If a man has to control his flesh in the world where the culture is much more pervasive, he should also be able to do so in church and view women as people that God wants to use rather than objectify them. Please keep the same energy for the men.

I believe what the pastor is saying is essentially true in many churches, but it seems that younger women need some practical application to 'dressing modestly'. I think this should come from mature women in the church as guided by the elders. The Bible says....'let the older women teach the younger'. Maybe offer a one-time class every 4-6 months with only women present, age 14 and up. Or, create a video in your church fellowship and make it available to women's groups. Or make it part of your membership class training. Of course, this is all under the leadership of pastors/elders of the church.

Preach the RIGHTEOUS TRUTH Pastor!!! If you hadn't noticed, men in church are wearing extremely tight clothing these days. Just as flesh-indulgent as the sisters! God has something to say about EVERYTHING, directly in His Word or through a servant of His, such as the Apostle Paul, when he said, "...yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful" (1 Corinthians 7:25, 35, 40). Too many believers DON'T read and study the Bible, but do a lot of pontificating with NO Scripture to stand on; just a lot of OPINIONS (versus TRUTH) and a LOT of repeating erroneous things said by others. Believers IGNORE the Scriptures to indulge in THEIR OWN WILL, not God's. TeaSeR (TSR) clothes - too tight, too short &/or too revealing - are NOT for the man/woman of God! God COMMANDS the sisters to dress. modestly (1 Timothy 2:9) and be ADORNED with the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God OF GREAT PRICE (1 Peter 3:4). Why? To represent Him well AND not defraud the brethren!!! Your SPOUSE &/or your DOCTOR are THE ONLY ONES that should see: cleavage, nipples, the shape of private parts, private parts, cellulite, stretch marks, butt cheeks, bellies, etc.!!!!!! We may not be able to avoid SEEING flesh in abundance, BUT...we sure can PURPOSE NOT TO LOOK AT IT! Brother Job said, "I made a COVENANT WITH MINE EYES; why then should I think upon a maid" (Job 31:1). For the married man, Solomon said a lot in Proverbs 5:18-21. Proverbs chapters 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 address adultery and THE STRANGE/FOOLISH WOMAN and the men who go after them! Jesus said, "But I say unto you, That whosoever LOOKETH on a woman TO LUST AFTER HER hath COMMITTED ADULTERY WITH HER already IN HIS HEART" (Matthew 5:28). The conclusion of the matter - "For ye are bought with a price: therefore GLORIFY GOD [not yourself] in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's [NOT YOURS] (1 Corinthians 6:20).
