Great video! what's the difference between MIG and stick welding? they both look like you're melting the filler rod directly on the base metal
@mr.kongableКүн бұрын
@@enochvictor2992 Really good question, the difference is usually the thickness of the metal you can weld on. Typically , the MIG is for thinner material and the stick can do thick material up to 1 inch thick

@@mr.kongable Thank you kindly sir, I can see the equipment you used was also different for both?

Hi just came from your welding 101 video i just want to say you sound so nice you break it down well and i have a question if i wanted to get into welding then how would i do that
@mr.kongable2 күн бұрын
@@tylerhunsperger-pk5tz Good question Tyler. It depends on what stage of life you are at. If your in high school, see if your school has a welding program you could sign up for. If your out of high school, you could check with a local community college to see if they had classes they offer for welding. If money is tight , you could see if there is a local welding shop or business and ask them if you could do some cleaning in trade for a job shadow or internship. Another option might be to find a local person who you know is a welder and ask them to teach you. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching

Aspiring welding student here, I've heard that cotton welding jackets work as well as allowing more airflow to keep you cool. Is this true or should i stick to leather? Thank you for the videos, I love listening to these anytime i have free time!
@mr.kongable2 күн бұрын
Good question! I recommend that anyone doing horizontal, vertical , or overhead welding use leather, as the sparks will eventually burn through the cotton.
