I've never rooted for another Country's athletes liked I did for them. I just simply loved everything about them, and still do. It broke my heart for her when he died. They were so in love. She's on her third marriage. I think she keeps trying to find that love again, and she never will. Their's was a once in a lifetime love story.

Такая легкость и синхронность,единение душ у них было во всем. Отец Сергея тоже умер от сердца. Ведь они были под постоянным медицинским контролем,его жалобы на брлитв спине,а причину этой боли не установили,проверить все-бледный был последнее время,а почему,тоже никто не обеспокоился. Несправедливо страшно!

I once heard someone refer to figure skating at the 1994 Olympics as the Olympics where they got every gold medal wrong. I have to agree. I'm a huge G&G fan and was rooting for them back then, but after reviewing their performance here and that of Mishketunik and Dimitriev, I believe M&D should have won because of Sergei's problems in his performance. Although I prefer G&G's style, M&D skated clean.

У Сергея был сильный стресс , когда он однажды уронил Катю на льду. И потом он очень был осторожен . А поддержек у них очень много, он весь задыхался после выступления. А Катя потребительски относилась к мужу.

I read Sergei said Katia was the driving force for their skating. He was the very best partner she has ever had. He was extraordinary and so supportive of her both physically and emotionally. I hope someday I can meet him in heaven🙏

I always watch the male partner during the throw. Sergei always skated through the throw, as if Ekaterina weighed nothing. He made it look so effortless and natural. Most male pairs skaters come to a dead stop and heave their partner with obviously great exertion. So often, it looks as if the girl weighs a ton and he's using every ounce of his strength to chuck her across the ice. But, not Sergei. Sergei was the quiet one in G&G. He allowed us to focus all of our attention on Ekaterina, because he was a great partner. In my opinion, Sergei is still the best male pair skater ever. And I don't see that changing any time soon. It'll take someone spectacular just to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Sergei.

They were a mirracle. Here for Sergei. Cant help tears during the Moonllight sonata.

These two were perfection on ice. I remember seeing them for the first time in the 88 Winter Olympics. They were teenagers and so was I. And I was thrilled to see other teens doing incredible things at that time. Marina Zueva created magic with them and it was just breathtaking to watch. It was tragic and heartbreaking for Sergei to die so suddenly. But G&G will forever be one of my favorite pairs skaters and the gold standard to follow.

Love them but how could they win with those 3 mishaps? Glad that they did win as they don't belong 2nd or 3rd.

I sure would hate to be the one to follow that.
