Thanks for presenting Ersal's perspective. Sounds like he's proceeding in good faith that something can be done with the city.

Wow, that place brings back memories. Before consolidation, the Cortland, Clearspring, Tampico, Medora games in the sectionals. Kids playing their hearts out. I remember regular season games when Seymour played great Indiana schools. Yes I have worked for Sam Emily to clean the gym after ball games. My junior year I sold popcorn to the yelling fans. I wouldn't trade my experiences in that gym for anything.

....Has anybody heard of a child care center in New Castle, Indiana in the year 1969 called "Kiddie Kastle?" My brothers and I used to go there after school back then to be babysat while our parents worked. I can't find any information about it anywhere online....

Ticket sales 'surged' because NOBODY can find the races on TV with the crappy Peacock streaming deal. A new TV deal needs to be free to watch the heavily sponsored rolling advertising billboards parade nose to tail for 2 1/2 hours on road tracks

alienating your fanbase with blackouts is market insanity with the rise of the internet ! The NFL final learned same and it is time for Indy to wake up ! If they do not it could cost them millions !

If these fools dont dump this stupid Peacock crap they will conyinuecto loose the viewing audience. Everyone pays too much already for tv, and now because nbc got a bug up,their collective ass's we are supposed to pay even more in order to see some races, and for virtually all the practices and qualifying. No way in hell, im thru with Indy car, it has not been worth a crap for years anyway. Roger didnt win with thus one! , he made it worse and more expensive to watch, good by !!

@3338MAN Wrong Ratings were up last year for the 500 and the series had its best year in years last year. .All race tracks have taken seats out. The Speedway has taken a fewer percentage of seats out than any track you can name. Daytona now only has about 100,000 seats compared to 234,000 at Indy. Slow motion Nascrap 7x champion Jimmie Johnson brought ratings down 2 years ago for the 500, not up..One must remember that more than 60,000 seats were added prior to the 1993 race, with only 23,000 removed since..The race remains easily the most attended single day race event in the world by a large margin, 3x Daytona and 2x the Kentucky Derby..The problem with the TV ratings is the fact it's an Early Sunday event.. Put the race back on Prime Time at 9pm Sunday night on tape delay like it used to be and ratings would soar. From 1970-1985 no racing event in the world came close in ratings, and believe me the racing product today is 100x better now than then.. Back then you would be lucky to have 10 cars still running at lap 190, with only 1 or 2 on the lead lap..Today there are 25-30 still running with 5-10 on the lead lap and the cars are 40 mph faster..I'll be at my 39th Indy Sunday..When the "Stars" 😂 of Nascrap come in July they can't get 50,000 anymore to show up..Indycar is 50 years older and 60 mph faster.
@richarddobson3138
@richarddobson3138 16 күн бұрын
@@3338MAN 7 time Nascar Champion Jimmie Johnson lowered ratings considerably 2 years ago. They were up last year without a Nascar Star. Why do I want to see Nascar drivers who drive cars that are much easier to drive at 50-60 mph slower than IndyCars? When Nascar itself shows up at the Speedway they can't get 50,000 to show up anymore. Indy remains the largest attended single day Sporting Event in the world and is now 3x the size of Daytona, and 2x the size of the Ky Derby in attendance..

@@3338MANThe race nearly sold out last year but they've already sold 16,000 more tickets this year. Overall the race has been up in attendance for years except the two Covid years. I've seen every race in person since 1985 minus the Covid no fans race of 2020..The racing has never been better

Bird and Magic started the rise of the NBA into a powerhouse but MJ strapped a rocket to it and turned it into a global phenomenon. Caitlin will probably be the former, but still, her success means the success of the entire WNBA.
