Hi: I'm a recent subscriber and just wanted to say that I love the channel. Your channel came up on my recommendations about a month ago with your first Sea Wolves video, and then I started watching your modelling videos. This is a fun channel, and you deserve more subscribers. Your 1/700 models of Yamato and Shinano look great. A cool addition would be a 1/700 of Bismarck or Tirpitz. Regards, Keith Milwaukee, WI

Of course many thanks for subscribing more awsome content coming up, i am planing a 1/700 Bismarck so stay tuned for that 😄

I own two of these, plus Aoshima's version, in preparation for converting into her sistership, Musashi, as she was originally outfitted in 1942. I am glad that Musashi was discovered in 2015, and hope her half sister, Shinano, also will some day be found. I hope I can get Pontos' iteration as well, even though it is far more expensive. However there is much less waste, no real parts to sand off, much of the model relies on the photo etched parts. Hope you enjoy the model, and build. Take care, and all the best.

Great to see this game getting some coverage. Looking forward to the next one. A question and potentially an error. You submerged and chose to fire the deck gun. Did I miss something? I have not read the rules, but I would imagine you have to be surfaced for that since the crew has to stand on the deck to use it.

Interesting kit. About 30 years ago I got the 1/400 UPC kit of this ship. I was going to convert it into the CV-6 Enterprise, to go with my Revell/Monogram CVN-65, because I couldn't find a CV-6 in that scale at that time. Glad I didn't get around to building it, cause now that I know the history of it I want to build it as it was. Also, since then I have half a dozen kits of CV-6 from the new Revell 1/1200 up to the 1/350 I Love Kit and more in between. Think I might want this kit too! Might be fun to do a diorama of the two ships in battle, even though that never actually happened. But if she hadn't been sunk on her maiden voyage, I bet there's a good chance she could've encountered the Enterprise at some point in the war. Anyway, just wanted to share this with a fellow modeller. We hear about the other Japanese carriers, but this one seems largely overlooked. Nice to see someone else out there doing one too. Have a better one!

Hi, thanks for your play through but upon review I think you have made a couple of errors. Firstly the comment made by @jimflanagan regarding movement is correct in that you can only move vertical or horizontal. In your play through you will arrive at the same location but it takes x2 fuel and not 1 fuel. With regards to target movements if they are located within the ARC ( being centre to your u - boat and one to the left and right of the centre) the target will always move forward towards your u- boat unless detected then it will try to escape and you do this by throwing the die which determines if the target goes left of right. If the target is in the red sector you always throw the die for direction. If the target is outside the ARC then it moves in the direction of the side of the arc it is located, ie if right of the arc then it continues to move right. In your playthrough your moved it right but it should have moved forwards as it was in the centre of the ARC undetected. I cannot see anywhere in the rules relating to positioning a u-boat counter on the Encounter map as the circular tile with the arrow is your u-boat position. In your video you moved the u-boat counter forwarded towards the target and then moved the target forward towards the u- boat counter. I understand only the target moves and there is no need for a u-boat counter. On theory you calculated you were nearer the target then you actually were. With regards to firing torpedoes this is a two stage process. For each torpedo you must first throw x 2 d6 on the Attack table to determine if a hit has occurred and if a hit is successful you then throw x2 d6 on the Hit Table in order to determine if the torpedo is a dud or the amount of damage caused. In your play through you seem to only refer to the Hit table and not the Attack table. I appreciate the time you have taken to provide this play through and as you stated you seem to be the first. Hopefully with your video and together with the constructive comments this will assist others to play the game. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the video! Please check your movement on the grid in the instructions section 4.2. I believe if the corners line up in the squares around you, it takes two movement to go diagonally one square. If the lines of the grid are offset from the corners, you can move diagonally using only one movement. This makes the mission much more difficult because you barely have enough fuel to get to Oban and back.

The video itself is pretty good. Very concise explanation of the game. Sounds like a pretty interesting one to get. I will also say, though, the intro is really loud compared to the rest of the video. Could still hear fine for the rest of it once I turned the volume back up to normal, so that's all good.

Build army, they still feel like Lego, try to get as much detail as possible with keeping to the scale. Also they are models, not toys. And if you want a model that doesn’t look like Lego, get an actual model.
