Sulawesi,s countryside and jungles are so dangerous because pythons snakes live over there.few days ago a woman was swallowed by a 32 feet long python in Sulawesi.Similar incidents happened in Sulawesi few weeks ago.its a dangerous place.

I'm a local tour guide from Tobelo, and I have guided a lot of tourists from another countries, if the situation like what u say the tour guide must speak the local language than they will not harm you cause they know that someone from your team is a local.

I don't use the Mamuya trekking path to guide my client, we start from Ruko village, it's happen to me and my clients couple of years a go, they stop us with machete at coconut plantation but I spoke the local language and everything was alright, and I decided to find another way to get to Dukono and it's fine. There is another good trekking path

As a Javanese that have been travelling around Indonesia a lot too and now stay at East Halmahera because of my job, unfortunately I agree with you, the habit of littering is worse here than Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan or Sulawesi island (as I've been travel around those island) but still, the view here is the best than west-side island of Indonesia like Java, and the people here is soooo much kind not like the rumors about them because of their fierce looks I hope you found some times in the future to explore another island of Indonesia Best regards ❤
