I'm very pro minimum wage as so many employers exploit their staff, however, if it means people will lose their job then it should not apply. Something is better than nothing. This is a difficult one as maybe companies can afford to increase their wages but don't want to but others genuinely can't afford it, especially in smaller companies.

Good question. People want and need safety FIRST, even before food. If you were put in charge or called a Govt, that would be a requirement and we feel far from safe in middle upend areas. He's put a safety plan in place now after how many years??! He' looks after education, but a family member had to go to a school at 6am to be in the front of a queue to get his child registered. My house help couldnt get her niece into a college anywhere in CT because it had reached capacity. As someone else said, they cut the sidewalks grass and fill the odd pothole.
