With how crazy inflation is and the world being turned upside down, it really helps ease your mind and your wallet by stocking up on cheap canned foods. Corn, soup, beans, spaghetti you name it. When you can buy a meal for $0.50 to $1, you start to realize how prepared you could could be for an emergency situation. Just a few cans a day, and you could have a whole pantry stocked within a month. As crazy as it sounds, if WW3 or another great depression were to happen, having a pantry completely stocked full of canned food could really save you. You can go a step further by stocking each rooms closet in your house with a box full of canned food, so each person is set.

Older sodas like root beer and cream soda contained powdered lactose which is basically the natural sugar in milk. It's what made the drinks taste creamy and feel smooth on your tongue. Newer sodas don't really use it anymore. That's why the foam in the older soda seemed better, it's the carbonation reacting with the lactose.
