This is when it was new and mine is a bit duller now. I am going to hit it with a floor buffer soon and see if it brings it back. I buffed a section by hand and it seemed to shine up like new again.

Nope not for this issue. The rotten egg smell is only in the hot water and is caused by a chemical reaction between the anode and the water. Switching to an aluminum/zinc alloy anode will solve the issue in MOST cases but many have spent thousands on filtration systems only to have the smell still persist.

Glad it helped! Just lay the ground cloth down and the tiles hold it in place. It moves a little as your placing the tiles down so you may want to weight it a bit on one end as you install the tiles. Good luck on your project!

That's odd. As long as the smell is only in the hot water the anode rod replacement should do the trick. I would question if the anode rod is actually the correct material.

These are just the Nitro. For my light-duty use, they are all I need! The floor is holding up great after 2 1/2 years.

Hey there. My garage floor had some major imperfections and I haven't had any issues with these going on 3 years now. If you watch the video from about the 10:00 minute mark you can see my floor. I filled in all the imperfections and such with some Sakrete Top and Bond, let it dry, then put landscaping fabric down, and have no regrets and they are not noisy at all. It's not as nice as Jay Leno's garage lol but everybody that sees it loves it! Good luck with your project.

Actually this was a well. Since I shot this video I have connected to city water and the issue went away. IN this case it was the water from the well. In another case though it very well could be city water but usually that is treated pretty good so this issue would be rarer in city water. Thanks for commenting!

Probably could have been a bit faster. But, for drilling one hole this size I wouldn't waste the time setting up the stand or the additional cost of renting it. Now if you had multiple holes to drill I would have needed the stand. I got through one hole hand held but if I had to do 5 more that same day I would have had to take a nap after the second one :) So for one 4" hole for a homeowner just rent the drill and make sure you get a bit that isn't worn out. Nope this is real time. It only took 12 minutes. Was a brand new bit and drill though from the rental company so that may have helped. I imagine if I rented a more worn out bit it would take a lot longer. This foundation was poured in 1959 also so not sure if that makes a difference. Perhaps different grades of concrete for different construction purposes. Just guessing as I know very little about concrete. I will say this house is over 60 years old and there isn't an out of plumb wall or surface in the entire house. It was really well built. My last house was built in 1920 and there wasn't ONE plumb wall or corner in it! This house is a dream to do repairs on compared to that one so if the concrete is not as strong as others nothing stronger was needed for this house. Thanks for commenting.

I measured mine, and the actual rectangular locker is 72" tall not including the locker feet and mounting points for the feet. If you pause the video at 1:46 and look at the cabinet bottom corners, you will see the triangular-shaped mounting plates for the feet that extend below the actual bottom of the cabinet. My cabinets are 75 1/4" from floor to top, including the feet attached. I imagine they could screw out higher to extend the height. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! I am 2 years in with it now and 2 upstate NY winters and loving it. It is not slippery at all with the diamond pattern on it but tool chest and cabinets still roll smoothly on it. My garage is always above freezing and even in the sub zero weather stays at about 45 degrees so everything on the vehicles melt. I just let the water evaporate and then mop up the rest as needed. I am going to add some mats this year though so I won't even need to do that. Now some shoes may be slippery on any surface but I have never had an issue with these in that regards.

Thanks for commenting. Some additional info I recently found that explains the difference between treating with Chlorine VS Peroxide. Removal of iron and sulfur is best done by oxidation, and H2O2 is an excellent oxidizing agent. Disinfection is the process of cleaning something with chemicals, to kill bacteria. While Oxidation and Reduction can be defined by adding or subtracting Oxygen to a compound; both reduction and oxidation polymerize, so they are called redox reactions. As stated, Hydrogen Peroxide has the chemical formula H2O2 and is an oxidizing agent similar to Oxygen but significantly stronger. The oxidizing activity of Hydrogen Peroxide is the result of the presence of an extra Oxygen atom relative to the structure of water.

Hi, I'm not sure if this would work. The issue is the Peroxide needs to sit in the Hot water heater for 4 hours or so. Important to note this only works if the smell is from the hot water ONLY. If you have the smell from the cold water also you have a different issue. You could try this but you would need to pull the peroxide solution from the filters into the hot water heater. So you could put the peroxide in the filters then turn on the hot water and let it run for 60 seconds or so then turn it off. This should draw the peroxide into the hot water heater. Then let it sit for 4-6 hours. Can't guarantee it would work but won't hurt anything to give it a try. Let me know if it does work. Best of luck!

@@BriansSpace It did work!! But it may only work for a month or so since i could only put one full bottle of hydrogen peroxide in the filters. So two bottles for the hot and cold water.. But there no more smell! Thank you so much!!!!!!! I've spent thousands of dollars trying to get this issue fixed, buying new water softener equipment's, pressure tanks and all kinds of parts for the well water /softener system.. My tenants wouldn't want to shower or even wash the dishes with the hot water. I spent $12 at walgreens took me 15minutes and the smell is completely gone the next day! WOW absolutely AMAZING!

So sorry to hear you had an issue with them. Fortunately, my order arrived timely and as ordered without any issues. Nothing is more frustrating than poor customer service. I think I mentioned in the video that Race Deck is a premium option and I think is made in the USA. It's almost twice as expensive, but if you call them they will send you a quote, and I think it came in at about $1.00 a Sqft more than this company. Also, people have mentioned they have great experiences with them so for any future purchasers something to consider. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yeah, not my best filming work, for sure :) I disconnect the hot water out side and pour it in there as there and left the cold water side connected. You need to leave the peroxide in at least 4 hours before running any hot water. It won't hurt anything leaving it in there longer.

I turn the hot water heater off while I am brekaing things open to add the peorxide. After it is added you can turn it back on and then just let it sit 3-4 hours before opening any hot water faucets.

I don't use jack stands on it, but for anything like that, you do want to place some plywood underneath them to spread out the weight, and you will be fine. This is needed for any of these style tiles. I never pull it out. I just use the leaf blower and blow it out, and for the winter snow, I just mop it up. My garage does stay above 45 all year long, so any snow that drops on it melts. The grated is very popular but my garage floor was very dusty and I wanted to be able to blow it out so I went with the solid. Things toll over it perfectly with no issue.

Not at all. They are not completely smooth and have a Diamond pattern in them. I have had no issues with them being slippery.

Thank you! I put the fabric down as other customers said it quieted the floor and also as a layer to limit dust transfer from the current floor. It was a good move and achieved both objectives. The cabinets roll with zero issue on the diamond patterns. I still love the floor as much as the day I installed it!

​@BriansSpace im in texas and i keep hearing about mold could be an issue. Would that be an issue using the fabric? Especially if anything gets wet in the garage?
