If you go back through my older videos, I explain it in on that one. But it's basically converting an RC10T2 into a buggy.

Awesome builds! Do most of your buggies have the pro line wide body wheels on them or just this one? Really like the look on this build
@rc10talkАй бұрын
Thanks. This is probably the only one with a full set of Proline widebody wheels. An earlier video of the Masami car with the green tub, the fronts are widebody. I had a bunch of new sets, but once Jconcepts came out with the 2.2 Mono wheels, I pretty much sold them all off.

I'm loving the videos. Its awesome to see cars from my era of racing. I still have a worlds car. I wish the tracks would go back to loam and get away from the hard pack. Offroad racing needs to have dirt flying!! Keep up the great videos.
@rc10talkАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! The only places you are gonna find those kind of tracks anymore are in backyards unfortunately. Where I race locally it's hard packed, But you can at least see the tire tracks when you get out of the groove a little bit, unlike the sealed tracks.

Is that an MIP Transmission? What kind of differential does it have? I have one and it has no way to put a screw into the outdrive. One of the outdrives has 4-40 threads in it and the other has a hole that is too small for a 4-40 screw to fit through it. Is there a diff screw that will fit this differential?
@rc10talk2 ай бұрын
The trans in this car is an RPM 2.65 stealth conversion. I'm guessing you have a MIP SP-1, maybe? If you go to our RC10Talk forum, in the "scan archives", there are a few MIP instruction sheets in there. If you have the Pro ball diff, the hole in the one outdrive is there to access the diff screw to adjust the diff. I don't remember them being 4-40 though.
@brucefowler8045Ай бұрын
Thanks for the info, I'll check on there, only one outdrive is threaded 4-40. I was thinking it was like the stealth and I was looking for the T-nut that goes in the outdrive on one side and a thrust bearing and screw on the other one.

That hole in the chassis was made to be able to take the servo horn off without removing the servo.. Old school 🔥🔥🔥
@rc10talk2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I kinda reference that when I say "unless they were really bad when they drilled it". Meaning their location. I also had this tub mixed up with another I had with holes drilled on either side that I filled before painting, and they definitely weren't for the servo horn lol. This one probably is, but their placement is pretty bad.

On this car, it's the 2.2 wheels that came with the RC10 Worlds re-release. These are the white version. On other cars, it would depend on the axles and/or the suspension setup I'm using as to which wheels will work best on it.

Thanks! Yeah, it definitely went to the right person. He joined the rc10talk forum shortly after I started gathering parts for the build, so he was able to help me from the start. He had been wanting to build a replica for himself, so I had both of our chassis sets anodized at the same time, and the bodies were painted at the same time. He still has his original body from the race, so that was an invaluable resource. Once I decided to move mine along, I gave him first right of refusal. So he got the car from me. When I wanted to build this car, since he already had the replica I built, he really didn't need to build the one he was planning. So he sold me his painted body that he no longer needed.

What I have noticed owning Masami's all Japan winning B3 is that most team drivers left their race cars box stock. Masami didn't even have all the blue bling on his B3.
@rc10talk3 ай бұрын
I believe a lot of that was to show JQ Public that it was a winner right out of the box. You definitely didn't see the creativity/customization of the tub years carry over into the B2 and later.

Sold my vintage Honda motorcycles for vintage RC. Made friends with Masaki when I bought the ALF 2022 car #23 I'm the only person in Canada to own the ALF 2022. Then Masaki offered cars from his collection. Unfortunately most of the good early cars have been sold or stolen. Figured I'd buy something from my generation and asked to buy the B3. I really wanted Masami's B3 he raced at the Worlds in 1997 Ranch Pit Stop but someone offered Masami $6000.00 USD for the buggy. Know that he got the offer of $6000.00 Masaki won't take less than $6K for any of the collection. @@rc10talk

How does this compare on lap times to like a worlds car or the 1.5?
@rc10talk3 ай бұрын
Without everything being equal (tires, electronics) it would be hard to have an accurate assessment. I practiced my Worlds car at the NC vintage race along with this. They were both fast, but the B2 just "felt" better.

How does that longitudinal motor and side-by-side electronics setup feel compared to other layouts?
@rc10talk3 ай бұрын
I go into it a little in the video. It's kind of hard to explain...... it's just different. If you need to tap the throttle to adjust the car in the air it feels like it drops on the right rear instead of dropping the rear evenly. But with the new rear suspension changes, it's jumping pretty well. Once I can get more steering dialed out of the front, it should be a pretty solid car overall.
@Drunken_Hamster3 ай бұрын
@@rc10talk Dialed out meaning remove steering? And regardless of that, do you have anymore running videos of this build on a track, particularly a higher grip track like clay with sauced slicks, or carpet/astro with pins?
@rc10talk3 ай бұрын
@@Drunken_Hamster Yeah, take steering out of it. It has a bunch of steering on corner entry. It also needs more rear toe. I didn't get any video of it on the high bite surface at WoRC. I didn't have much time to mess with with the BC3 because I was focusing on the cars I had planned to race. I did get it on track after the race was over. No video though. It takes a little while to get used to how it drives, but I got it down to just under 2 seconds a lap slower than my B2. Then I touched the pipe and broke a knuckle. I think I could have shaved at least another second off that in another 4-5 laps.
