This is a true story - a few lads I know were “arrested” in Tenerife for breaking a fence. They didn’t know what the fence was or what they had been accused of. The “police” slapped them across the face and roughed them up. They took them to an underground prison type thing where they stayed for 3 days. They had to pay 200 euros each and were let go. They were never told what they did, why they are taken there and forbidden from calling home with phones taken off them. They were given an orange and a small carton of milk everyday. Nothing else. The island is very corrupt and this includes the police. Theres literally a very seedy underworld on the island. It needs to be investigated properly.
