Whatever about the war and Spain but… the size and shape of these are magnetic. Like seeing a whale up close… no big deal yet you are moved completely.

saw this in vienna , found it boring and meaningless. Why would a middle aged american find a war 70 yrs. old of interest ? If it didn't have Spain_war as title would anyone find it so compelling ?

"في الفن الحديث غالبا ما تعتمد التحف الفنية على الفكرة أكثر من اعتمادها على التنفيذ وكمثال على ذلك بإمكان أي شخص تأليف سيمفونية لا تتألف سوى من وتر واحد وتعزف لمدة أربعين دقيقة ثم يتبع ذلك الصمت المطبق لكن ايف كلاين هو من أتى بتلك الفكرة "❤

This is a fantastic discussion! Thank you so much for uploading it. I only wish it could have gone on longer. Pat Steir gives such grounded, thoughtful answers to questions as well as fascinating remembrances of her experiences.

Gego is a pioneer - only learned of her this week in an unusual way as: A friend and artist from Mexico saw the Gego show in DF and sent pics. Meanwhile a friend here in the States starts telling me about Geometric Abstraction in Latin America. Today the second friend sent some pictures to show me this art movement........ and the shoe dropped!! GEGO!!

These are exactly the kinds of things that settle in the back of our minds and later shape us and guide our thoughts. White again is seen as pure, life, and black is seen as violent equating to death. Subconsciously training us to think this way.

Fock! This is brilliant. For me, it sheds light on MJ’s metamorphosis as well. May the Brilliant Souls of Beethoven + Michael Jackson + Terry Adkins + Greg Tate Rest in Sweet Love Supreme. 🎵🤎🎵

What do you mean with "was"? As far as i know Gerhard Richter is still alive... So shouldn't you say "is"? (As in Richter "is" somebody who..)

What if someone fails to hold in a sneeze or fart? 20 minutes of silence is not that easy especially in a group setting. 😭😭 P.S.: Thank you Mr. Dan Brown for acquainting me with creators, artists, art, literature etc, no matter how strange or eccentric they might come across. No wonder u are my favourite author. ❤️
@kevinpbristolcc3 жыл бұрын
Ridiculous. Don't tell me I don't "appreciate" or "understand" it. It's people playing the same note for twenty minutes and then becoming silent. It's just more bullshit pretentious modern "art" that people claim is "transcendent". If I were to create this as a nobody people would look at me like I was crazy. But this person is known for their work so people just take it for granted that it must be brilliant. Salvador Dali was brilliant; Monet was brilliant; this guy is cashing in on people's need to feel like they understand something most people can't comprehend. Again, bullshit.

I love this artist's work. You don't show much of it in the film and there seems to be very little on the internet. I like hearing his voice and his philosophy too...he spoke very well about Cy Twombly.
