Must be during Grissom's first few years in Austin. He played a strat when he first got there until he discovered PRS guitars.

My favorite Townes Song At my Window! My Uncle was the Engineer on Townes Live at the Old Houston Quarter! He was friends with and worked with the Great Cowboy Jack Clement! He might of helped him with the album that this song came on! I don’t know!

My Uncle worked for Jack Clement and they were good friends! My Uncle produced Townes’s Live at the Old Houston Quarter! He recorded with a portable 4 Track! It’s under Tomato Records!

Townes and John Denver had so much in common. Born about the same age and died about the same age. Both were bipolar with very high IQs. Both were great singer songwriters who were held in high esteem by so many. Botth were geniuses. Both dealt with drug alcohol issues. Both were born into prominent wealthy families. I believe that if they had not died so early that they would have collaborated together. I am sure they held each other in the highest regard.

Townes had such a great sense of humor. Wish I could have met him. He and Marty Robbins are my favorite singer/songwriters.

Music is subjective. But for me, it is Townes Van Zandt and Marty Robbins. Their music just connects to me,

Harry became a cult favorite with Repo Man in the 80s but I liked him when I saw him first in Straight Time with Duistin Hoffman in the 70s. Then I watched everything I could find with him in it. Went to see Alien on the opening Friday just for him. He did some good single scene stuff in The Rose and Private Benjamin, a rare comic role.

I've been watching Harry Dean Stanton since the 1950's. Probably the best character actor ever! Blondie mentioned him in her song, "I Want That Man".

Townes Van Zandt - At my window

"At My Window" At my window Watching the sun go Hoping the stars know It's time to shine Daydreams Aloft on dark wings Soft as the sun streams At days decline Living is laughing Dying says nothing at all Baby and I are laying here Watching the evening fall Time flows Through brave beginnings And she leaves her endings Beneath our feet Walk lightly Upon their faces Leave gentle traces Upon their sleep Living is dancing Dying does nothing at all Baby and I are laying here Watching the evening fall Three dimes Hard luck and good times Fast lines and low rhymes Ain't much to say Feel fine Feel low and lazy Feel grey and hazy Feel far away Living is sighing Dying ain't flying so high Baby and I are lying here Watching the day go by 💙

I'm 71 years now, and Townes is one of the greatest you'll ever listen to...learn from his simplicity..his wordings, his chords...easy 1.4.5 stuff...one of the greatest you'll ever find on yer U-Tube stuff...also enjoy John Prine, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, and others from 1975 video from Guy Clark's house...(hint: 7 Bridges Road)

What a beautiful selfless act. Sir Bob Geldof is a man who has gone thru so much , but manages to keep a positive attitude. Years ago, I gained such strength from watching the heartbreaking interviews he did on the enormous losses in his life Thank you Sir Bob Geldof
