How much of this walk is on tarmac? My partner and I are between walking this path or a 4 day part of The Dingle Way. We're looking for the least amount of road walking between the two. Thanks! Have found your site very useful!

The Dingle Way will have less road walking between the two! 😃 I hope you’ve a great time - Ellie

I want to go to Wincklower Mountains. Usually I am not happy about very touristic places, since I do like hiking alone, but if most of the tourists are Irish I am kind of happy to meet them 😁

To be honest, I think it was wise not to designate the Bangor Trail as a National Way Marked Trail. I ran/walked it last summer and found it much heavier going than the other National way marked trails I've done. My father described it to me as "once in a lifetime", meaning that having done it once he wouldn't do it again. I'm inclined to agree - amazing, certainly, but not for the faint hearted. I've crossed a good few wet bogs in my time, but nothing as wet as this for as long as this. The trail isn't that obvious in many sections also - you're basically wading through a grimpen mire hoping that some post you can see in the distance is a way marking (it probably is because there's so little out there). Maybe it's easier going after a long dry spell, so that's probably the time to do it.

Climb it , change . They say that to attain a great height gives your brain a dopamine rush , add to that the endorphins , there is a natural high . Addiction is a bad word for it that i am guilty of using . Its a fix .. a cure, a preventative medicine. I read once about how a mountain is also a very tangible moment of success . Our world, our lives are full of long term hard to achieve goals that get us down . Being able to offset those difficult challenges with s short tern achievement such as a hill "fixes" the balance .

Another great video! What other entry level hikes would you suggest for the West of Ireland near/ hugging the coast or with great views of the water.
@ToughSolesАй бұрын
Thank you! Knocknarea is a fantastic hike in Sligo with gorgeous views of the coast and a mix of terrain. If you want to be right on the coast I’d recommend Aughris Coastal Walk or Killaspugbrone loop. Both easier walks, but right on the water and beautiful ♥️

What a lovely, well-maintained trail. I always pass the signs pointing to Aughris Head when I am heading further west to Mayo, and say to myself that I should make time to detour and explore. Thank you for a great video tour again!

Beautiful video! At age 52 this is my dream. Beara, Sheeps Head Loop, Kerry and Dingle Peninsula, as well as Diamond Hill, Connemara all sound and look wonderful! How would you rate Diamond Hill if you had had better weather? I am not in the best of shape but doing strength training and some walking exercises. Hoping though probably much slower than you too it can be done.

Lovely 👌👌 One of my favourite Sligo walks. Scenery is spectacular and its worth spending some time exploring the little stoney beach areas. For a longer walk i recommend starting the walk from Dunmoran strand carpark which can also end with a sea swim when you get back to carpark 🏊♀️

It’s a very wet bog up there all year round, so finding a dry spot might be one of the bigger issues! 😂 it’s also very exposed. so not sure tbh!
