Got a 100 round box of these a while back on a sale and shot 50 of them today. No Jams or FTE's, but then again my CZ P10S eats about anything. I will say that the Target and Practice Winchesters are the dirtiest ammo I've ever shot, it's also very under powered to the point where my P10S had mostly not get last round slide lock open. I've shot pretty much Nobleteq Re-manufactured ammo that's 124gr that has been working flawlessly and it's pretty clean, Magtech has had no issues, S&B 124gr no issues, Fiocchi Classic Line 115gr General Purpose (Italian made) no problems and very clean, Sig 124gr V-Crown (my personal carry ammo) and Fiocchi 100gr Black Mamba (use as emergency self defense ammo due to how affordable they are). Even that the Winchester Target and Practice didn't cause any malfunctions, I wouldn't buy it again due to the fact that for the same price normally I can buy Fiocchi Classic Line that burns clean and not under powered. The big issue with these Winchester Target and Practice ammo is QC and the quality of the powder is low, it became evident it's a slow burning powder (allot of powder was still burning after the bullet exits.

I was strongly considering Buying Either The Taurus G3, or the S&W SD9, and it was nice to catch a more relaxed video about the G3, who isn't necessarily a hard core gun guy and how it does in more ordinary ownership. Appreciate the coincidental, well timed upload! :)

Thanks for to making a video explaining the common question to those who are new to firearms. I don’t own Toro pistol’s but here great things about the G2/G3 system. I been into Firearms for greater part of my life. Simple videos like these are what I like to share to my first time family or friends. Without having to see a review or more tech on a firearm. Good video

What's up bruh, I'm digging your philosophy and logic relevant to the Taurus G3/G3C in my case I own the G2C and I love it but at the beginning the trigger was a bit strange so I spoke with Taurus about it and they steered me in the direction of a couple of parts on their website, purchased and installed myself for a better result. I may breakdown and get the G3 also like the size, it cracks me up how some people think because its a Taurus they are giving the pistols a bad rep. I understand their QC wasn't up to par at one time but has been corrected since... What would you compare the size of the G3 to??? Good video bruh!!!😎
@johnlacasse8893
@johnlacasse8893 Ай бұрын
The G3 is in the size class of the Glock 19 or the Smith and Wesson M&P Compact... 4 inch, with 15 rounds in flush fit magazines... They also include 17 rd magazines, with a grip extension, just like the M&P series. Taurus is a great pistol, especially for the budget conscious.

I have both and don’t have a preference. I just train to always sweep the safety on the draw, whether there’s one there or not. Also, a lot of the people who say this also shoot AR15’s or similar rifles and never seem to be concerned about the safeties that are on all of those firearms.

Different applications... I didn't carry concealed in the Marines in Iraq or standing Staff duty..... I don't have a squad or platoon going to Smiths to get food with me and I'd rather not have an extra step in defense.. with this logic you might as well carry in condition 3 ( no round in chamber).

It’s about training not what’s modern and cool. Be safe, and for Christ sake, stop shooting yourself in the dick re-holstering. If you have a safety and are dumb, at least be less dumb that day. Train train train

I just picked up the same exact ammo in the 100rd box, and I was getting 1 out of 5 not ejecting after firing. I had no issues with firing, just ejecting. It was ridiculous. I've put over 2,000 rounds thru my new Sig P229, in various brands of ammo... and never had a single issue, until I got this Winchester 115 FMJ. I couldn't see any visual issues with it, other than a discoloration of the brass itself after firing that I wouldn't normally see on other brands. My fav brand has been Federal American Eagle, and it comes loose in the box as well, not in plastic trays, but it's neatly stacked in layers, the same as the Winchester... so I don't see that as being the issue. I've talked to a few other shooters at the range, and many of them say the same thing about Winchester, in various calibers... that it's junk, that it jams, that it won't eject, etc. Maybe Winchester ammo was a better quality at one time, but I'm gonna guess those days are long gone. Needless to say, I have about over 50 rounds left of the WInchester that I won't even use anymore, it's just not worth the aggravation. This morning I went to the range, and still had the box of Winchester in my bag, so I loaded a clip with them and yup, on the 2nd round, it wouldn't eject, stuck in the barrel... cleared it, 3rd was fine, then the 4th jammed as well. Cleared that, another two were fine, then another jam. I promptly dropped my clip, unloaded the rest, loaded up some Blazer... and not a single issue for the rest of the session. Ran thru 100 rounds of Blazer, and 150 rounds of Federal, not a single problem. All I can think of is it might be the quality (or lack of) of the brass itself... and it's not like it's factory reloaded, so that's not a possibility. Never buying Winchester ammo again...

One word of caution. My 35 whelen 200 grain Winchester Power Point was a complete failure. 4 failure to fire and 1 bullet so loose in the brass it was unsafe to shoot. When that buck of a lifetime steps out, don't make the same mistake i made. Make good ammo choices, Winchester is cheap, unreliable ammo in my experience with it.

Ya, we just had 3 rounds out of 30 shot catastrophically fail. I've been shooting for over 40 years and have never had 3 rounds from a single brand blow up as badly as these three did. Two injuries and a two damaged firearms. First round we thought was just a bad luck round. Blew out at the casing by the prime rim. The other two, fired in separate 9mm's, both experienced a catastrophic failure at the base of the case causing injury to both shooters and the two firearms. I will NEVER AGAIN, use any Winchester Ammo Product. We've had bad luck with their 22 LR variations, and now this WalMart 9mm crap.

Don't blame the ammo that pistol is notorious for being ammo picky. How do you know for sure its not a magazine related issue? There are so many variables. Bottom line, you have a cheap pistol and its going to not like certain ammo.

Where did you purchase the ammo from? That looks like a returned box of ammo Winchester has great quality control I have purchased the 200 range pack many many times and the cartridges are always in a nice straight row and facing the same way. Those rounds looked like they were failures to feed and eject the one looks like it was slammed into the side of the chamber or feed ramp and the other one looks like the extractor poked a hole in the side of the case and the misfires could have come from the ammo not being kept in a controlled environment. You got to be careful where you get your ammo from and always inspect it if you can.

The method you have demonstrated is going to get someone hurt some day. You start with a cocked revolver in the holster then proceed to de-cock it incorrectly at least four times before getting to the demonstration. You use incorrect nomenclature. C'mon man, a wheel? It's a cylinder. Likewise, it's a thumbpiece, not a wheel release. When you finally get around to demonstrating the procedure, you do it in a manner that sooner or later will allow for an accidental or inadvertent discharge to occur. May I suggest - The proper method is - Pick up the revolver and with the finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard, point it in a safe direction. A safe direction is defined as should the weapon discharge, there is no loss of life or injury and little or no property damage. Place the pinky of the non-shooting hand between the hammer nose and the frame. This does two things; it keeps the hammer nose (firing pin) from striking the cartridge and it keeps the other fingers away from the cylinder gap. People sometimes get their fingers too close to the cylinder gap when using the index finger or the thumb to block the hammer, especially with small framed revolvers. Pull the trigger to release the hammer to rest against your pinky. A little rearward pressure with the pinky against the hammer will prevent the hammer from snapping on your pinky. Then take your finger off the trigger and place it outside the trigger guard along side the frame. This is a critical step. It allows the internal safeties (hammer seat and rebound slide seat and hammer block) to prevent the firing of the revolver. These safeties are disengaged when the trigger is held to the rear. With the finger still off the trigger and outside the trigger guard, slowly remove your pinky as you control the lowering of the hammer until it come to rest in the down position. You can then proceed to press the thumbpiece and swing out the cylinder should you wish to unload the revolver. Although rare, the hammer may stop before coming to the fully at rest position. If this happens, don't panic. Simply bring the hammer back to full cock and repeat the procedure. Hate to sound so harsh. We both have the same objective and that is to prevent accidents with firearms. Please do some research and re-do this video.

you need to let go of the trigger while decocking the revolver, by you keeping it depressed you still can see the hammer going through and let letting the hammer lock do its job.

Yep. That's why I don't buy Winchester "white box" of any caliber anymore. Back in 2016 or so during the election I went and bought an bunch of the 20 round boxes of the 55 grain 5.56x45 TARGET. At that time they cost $5.97 per box. When I open some of the boxes I was in for a huge surprise..... 1. Some primer were rusted as...red rusted. 2. Some brass case shows sign of "splitting" and you can see "crack" signs. It is as if these were reloaded several times. If you're a reloader you know what I'm talking about. 3. 7 rounds. These rounds their "full metal jacket" was peeling off. I can see the lead core. 4. Several rounds weren't even "seated" in property. I can just "pull out the projectile". 5. Some didn't even have a primer. Since 2016 and too this day I don't buy Winchester White box of any caliber anymore.
