Only critique I have right away is the dialogue is wayyyy too quiet. The music was loud so I turned it down then i couldn't hear what you were saying cause it was too quiet. What editor do you use?

I don’t think the way you cut it will hurt should be the same strength as long as your overlapping that’s the part that’s going to make it strong because of the twisting . For a fabricator a lave and a end mill are very essential. Along with a CNC / plasma cutter . I’ve always wanted to build my skid plates out of T-1 it’s a non conforming metal in witch you have to preheat to weld then post heat . I worked at a place that made mine equipment so they use this over a person like canopy’s to protect them from falling rock. I kinda figured 1/8 T-1 plate for the fuel tank and motor/tans plate would be real good if you ever did saddle bag on it it wouldn’t bend up. It would hold the weight of the vehicle. When I used it for post heat we would just cover the welds up with for dry . It’s made from clay so it would hold the heat in for hours . Letting it cool off slow making it super strong . There’s you a good little trick if you have to cool of any of your welds slow . I like the idea about your lift up spare tire . Kinda a Lamborghini door style spare tire carrier. Another killer video man that lave idea was a good one . I’ve seen so many people think they can just weld away on that axle metal or shafts between the trans and transfer case to no avail ! Your idea there should work out ok . When steel cracks and breaks for it being hardened then it’s particularly not to fond of being welded on . A lot of times like the T-1 it has to be heated up then welded then cooled of slow so it doesn’t get stressed out . Now if you ever go and weld a figment up for a machinist to cut back out like we’re a bearing or Hines joint has walleered the hole out . Make for sure you burn the grease out first then heat it up weld it and just let it set and cool down normal . This way when he machines it the weld will be soft so he can cut it . If you weld over oil or grease it will make the metal hard . But heating it up and welding will make it easy for his work also . Looking forward to seeing you do more learn more and see the ideas come to life!

The one thing I can say there very well built, extra strong, and bulletproof . The stock frame will definitely give before anything thats being added. You do a killer job man like the video . I modify a lot of things my self so what your doing is a lot further. After my last lift I’ve looked at it and said why didn’t I just take 3 inches out of the strut tower and put a leveling block in and that way I wouldn’t have to modified my top a arm ball joint angle then reinforce it . I just cut the bottom side kept bending it till the ball joint looked right . Being from West Virginia an in the coal mines I heated a roof bolt (the middle peace minus the head and threads) placed it up both sides an around the ball joint area roll was at just added peace’s to make the top a arm strong again . I have a 04 4Runner had a 04 Tacoma wrecked it but I’m going out more on this 4 runner I wanna build the engine I got 4.0 and just got another 04 for parts frames bad came from Ohio we’re the salt in the winter killed it . I’ll keep checking all your work out Toyota I’m loving it !

If your recording is too quiet, make sure to lower the music volume too. KZfaq actually do a bit of normalization so if the whole video is very quiet youtube will boost the volume on the whole video. But if the music is louder than anything else, the normalization often turn down the volume on the whole video, making your voice even quieter.

I wanna build a long travel kit on my own for my montero sport, but I don't know how to do cad design and I don't have a laser cutter. What tips would you suggest or things you'd advise me to do while designing and what materials should I use??
@FILTHY4R
@FILTHY4R Жыл бұрын
Start designing it based on the factory arm and then improve the design until you're happy with it. Then do that again and again until everything is as good as you think you can get it. Remember that triangles will always be on of the strongest shapes, so creating a bunch of 2D and 3D triangle structures will reduce weight while adding strength. I'll be posting another video of the new arms in about a month!
