I really like watching the rear engine track loaders. It's amazing to me that CAT only has three sizes. 53, 63, and 73. They don't look huge like the D-7's through D-11's but when you see a 973 with a heaping bucket full of dirt it is 6' thick😊

how much tractor do ya need for a 70 flat?
@Blackearthexcavationandtiling3 ай бұрын
70 flat bottom is a pretty good load.... really depends what your doing and type of soil ... here in SW iowa, we do a lot of short loading - and it's nasty clay soil - so a large 4 wheel drive, with good traction ... probably more weight and traction over just horsepower.... We had a 17 yard Ashland (I-175 dolly wheel) had it on case ih steiger 400 - it was a nice match to the tractor..... in the past we tried to pull a cat 80 (flat bottom) with a 9520 deere articulated and it was near enough tractor ..... If the scraper is a direct mount that helps, the weight helps the tractor pull better ..... not sure any of this info helped - but thanks for the question, I have watched your channel, and enjoy your videos, especially the mowing

@tedkahler9738 I think you'll be ok .. and worst case scenario you don't have to fill it all the way up .... I beleive cat offered an extended center bit for those, which made it fill a little easier - although it wouldn't cut super even ..... best of luck! And look forward to new videos sometime!

Are you able to run a single tank, since it has 2 feed lines or do you always have to pull side by sides
@Blackearthexcavationandtiling3 ай бұрын
Yes you can run just one ... just keep the valve shut off on one of the feeder lines. .. both feeder lines went to a Y that went into the super cooler

FAR superior FoV than the Large Cats, but it looks like Komatsus D85px has the best (on large dozers) Honestly, Cat's interior design (especially that LCD shit where everything's deep in menus) looks dumb. You'd think they'd look at aircraft cockpits to get ideas, as many things warrant dedicated switches. Instead? Cat treats LCD as a means to save money on gauges & switches, & has the WORST human factor Thanks for this video ... for whatever reason it's been hard to find the interiors on these half-million+ machines.

I don’t think so. I was told seedstar 3hp is the highest version you can get not from the factory. Im building a couple custom planters with deere row units for vegetable growers and information on seedtar is scarce.

I really enjoyed this video. I have a soft spot in my heart for these old tractors. I’ve repainted several 4010s and a 4020. My dad had two 4010s , a 4020 power shift, which was one of my favorite tractors. He also had a 3010 which I still have. I also painted a 4010 for a friend once. As the equipment got bigger so did our tractors. My dad ended up selling all of them except for the 3010, I wouldn’t let him sell that one lol ( I later wished we’d kept the 4020😢). Ours were all propane tractors, I would love to have a 4020 diesel, console tractor, but I really would have no use for one other than to have just to have 😂. These tractors were so easy to work on. We did all our own overhauls and everything. I am wanting to build a shop just for restoring these old tractors, for myself and others. I really liked your 3020 with the factory duals, don’t see too many of those.

As a retired grain hauler from the 80s pulling a 40ft Super Hopper behind a K100, back then the Wilson looked noting like the Tempte. It appears to me the Wilson has done a lot to make their trailers look like the Tempte.

Capacity. Jd 780 3400bu/hr max corn. Deere says it will do more, but a power stop at 3400 will have corn touching the bottom of the concave so it has to be forced out the rotor. Speed up the trough augers or make more clearance under concave. Why does Chaffer leveling need to be so difficult? Couldn’t the grain load be mechanical leveled below the concave? Concave and sieve side access. Rethresher machines have terrible access on the right side. I would like a camera looking at the sieves to see what is happening. I think fan speed and other adjustments would be much easier if I could watch what is happening. My neck hurts from looking down all day long. To name a few.

Thank you for the comment ... I don't have any plans for it ...the main beam was 4x8 - which is not heavy enough, so I laminated and bridged it to get the extra strength - that was a mistake - I should have used a 6x12 or 6x14 inch main beam ... tires are 21.5L-16.1 .. tandem rear wheels are from a vandale manure tanker ... the cradles the bales sat on are 4x4 inch box tubing - 9.5 ft length - they needed to be 10 ft long

The Challenger pivot and the deesre pivot could not be more different. The deere is all in one housing and mostly enclosed. In my opinion the deere has a weaker pivot and is susceptible to breaking if the tractor gets 'troughed' between two minor hills.

What's your opinion on the no till culters? Do you think there necessary?
@Blackearthexcavationandtiling7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question .. I really don't know ..we have debated this for a long time ... I think if you had really good other equipment - such as Vertical Tillage or a shredder- you could do without them ..but if you have longer pieces of corn stalk to no till through, they are good to cut the material up ahead of the truv's.....I really don't like them - as most companies coulters cut deeper than the openers, which agronomists say you don't want to do.... I guess I'd say situation dependent ....I should make a whole video about coulters ....
