I was sexually abused for over two years by my grandfather. I was around a young age 5 to 7 pr so over the course of it. I just take solace in that he is in prison and my state takes guardians as abusers very seriously.

A year ago, my father lost consciousness, was unresponsive & on my kitchen floor a year ago, so I called 911 for medical help & an ambulance. Evidently the 911 dispatcher that answered my call wasn't aware of agonal breathing; I had my phone on speaker & he could hear my Dad loudly gasping for air, he never said anything to me regarding this, he was too busy being vague & argumentative, which caused me more stress during an already stressful situation. Wow! What an eye-opener. This type of information is just as important as knowing how to call 911 for emergency assistance. I wish I had learned this in my 8th grade health class or any grade level for that matter. I was trained & certified in CPR & was able to provide my dad with, that until the six absolutely most awesome medics arrived. Unfortunately, my dad died before the medics made it out of my driveway. At age 56, it was my 1st time calling 911. Wow! What a horrible call experience & let-down. Only 1.5 hours from Seattle, WA.

i have tachycardia, i also have EDS. I have to get an echocardiogram every 5 years except next time they’re making me do a full body CT scan or something like that (it’s gonna be in 2026). and they’ve never said my heart is abnormal or nothing concerning has ever been conveyed to me about my heart, but it’s always high and annoying to explain to nurses when i go to the hospital or doctors lol. I might have to eventually go on heart meds to slow it bc i’m on ADHD meds which supposedly is supposed to speed it up but honestly i think they’ve slowed it, but i do definitely still get moments where my heart goes up to like 200bpm for no reason lmao

So what happened to checking the airway for obstructions prior to two rescue breaths? No finger sweep? If there is an obstruction, you are going to push it further down the airway, blocking it completely.

In 2018, I tried CPR on my miniature Dachshund and it's impossible with their body habitus (rib cage and long neck) unfortunately, I lost my angel, and it was traumatic and to this day I still suffer from flashbacks... I never got another dog because I feel like it's replacing property and he wasn't property, he was a family member. For those who was able to save your precious family member, you were very lucky and truly blessed!!!

Did cpr on a guy that collapsed next to me, and he's certainly dead. I have no clue if it's affecting me. But, it helps knowing that I'm helping make a chance rather than helping them survive.

My God. My dad passed last Tuesday and had a death rattle. But at the last couple seconds of his life he took 2 breaths that looked like he was trying to get air but couldn't. Then he died. But your demonstration really hit me because that's exactly what he did and sounded like. I wasn't quite prepared to see it in real life but I really wasn't prepared to see you do it and have that moment come rushing back to me. But I'm glad I know what he went thru. It's now been forever seered into my memory. I'll never forget it. 😢😮
