The real tricky bit is folding up the pop-up tent and getting it back in the bag!

That was well explained, thank you. But how easy is it to de-rig the tent and get it back in it's bag? The fact that these pop up tents usually get left behind after festivals pre-empts my question!

Good point about being trapped in case of a capsize. I think I'd keep a knife close at hand, maybe in a leg sheath like scuba divers use ... or just camp in places where the water's so shallow, capsize is impossible.

A small quick release sheath knife on a neck lanyard or ankle strap is a valuable safety precaution whenever sleeping rough on a boat or anywhere trouble may arise unexpectedly. 👣🕊👽

Would it not be easier and more spacious to just use a tarp set up with the boat's boom acting as the centre of the "tent". Pre-made tie out points to suit and you could really maximise the space on the dinghy. The pop up tent idea seems a little cumbersome to me. Whatever works for you though, as long as you're having fun, that's what it's all about. Cheers for a cool wee video

Such a very nice set up. Love ❤️ it. Very well done girl. Thanks for sharing 👍. I have still not found a decant way to get a tent installed on my Hobbie Tandem Island. Even so with my outriggers, nothing really worked right. Your wood "floor" idea is pretty sweet. I will try to do "kinda" the same concept. Seems very promising (even so, my boat is just a piece of floating plastic"). I am not worried about capsizing due the "wing span". Just struggling with "keeping it simple" but also very effective. Happy to see you someday around. Always fair winds and safe travels. Greetings from Spain 🇪🇸

Hi Mary. I would like to do the same in my mirror. Is it a two second - 1 (the original-one person tent) ? No longer produced i think. Kind regards. Fausto DCA 2949

Ingenious Mary Dooley - what a great idea! Excellent warning about the potential for entanglement in a capsize as seems an important safety issue for any sleep-on boat. Typically we would have some warning although a sudden capsize while sleeping would prove treacherous in a confused state. Maybe having the life vest inside the tent perhaps attached to the tent opening? Even sleeping GI Joe/Jane style with a suitable knife strapped to ones arm or leg could address a range similar scenarios? Have enjoyed your cameos on Roger's channel so excited to now discover you have your own!
