The chrome looks so real.did you do anything to it or its just out of the box.did you drill each spoke out and glue each spoke back in using guitar strings.any way to do a how to vid on this.i have 3 of the crate bikes and want them looking like yours.YOUR THE MAN LOOKIN GOOOOD

Thank you, the chrome you see is provided in the kit, no need to chrome anything. Each spoke was cut and replaced one by one. Each rim is a two piece affair so everything was done before gluing the halves together...

Great build Marcos, I'm going to try that 2K Clear you used, I'm new to airbrushing so i get a bit nervous, as i try to get the best result possible, and I'm not too familiar with the ratios of thinner to paint or clear, the same with the Tamiya acrylics, Not sure the needle size , and best thinner paint ratio for painting the body, vs ration for using the clear for the body. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just started following you thanks to Frank Model works, who recommended your video on vinyl tops. Just subscribed, great work by the way.

Thank you my friend, my suggestion to you, seeing that you are starting out is to practice using enamels thinned with mineral spirits, the idea is to get a good feel for airbrushing. Practice on plastic spoons before you commit to a more serious project. When you buy 2K clears, they always recommend thinning ratios, every brand is different so make sure to read instructions but overall, they are pretty easy to use. For paints, again practice is the key and the more you do it, the quicker you will master it. There are a lot of paints out on the market for the hobby that are already pre-thinned, those are the more ideal ones since they take the guessing part out of the way. It’s no big science but it is something I always suggest to anybody when they start out in the hobby.

Nice video. I'll have to try this way. I always used painters tape to get the Vinyl texture. This way looks much easier. I don't use a air brush, just rattle cans. Would I need to keep the same distance away using the spray can? also I see your door and trunk panel lines have detail in them all ready. Will it still stand out once you paint the body? Thanks for any suggestions you might offer.
@cruzer2123
@cruzer2123 3 ай бұрын
Thank you, you might be able to perform this with a rattle can but I suggest this to be done with an airbrush. My panel lines are scribed very deeply and then washed right on the plastic. There is no need to address them anymore after this but again, the trick is to scribe them very deeply.....
