What you are feeling with the shock is the “brain” tuning, it’s going to ride like a hard tail unless there is enough impact to get past that stiff spot in the start of the stroke. The bike will definitely make you pick your lines a lot cleaner, vs a longer travel bike, but that’s not a bad thing. And practice those wheelies, a little pedal power from the seat, a bit of a wheelie and you can pivot off the rear and swing the front end around really tight corners with ease. Keep putting the miles on it and you will get the muscle memory locked in on it. I bought mine to replace my old camber, since that had such a steep head tube angle it was really hard to from that to my stumpy evo, now with the chisel I can jump on either bike n go. One climbs way better and the other rips down way better, and lets me ride sloppy lines😂

Nice build, I started with the comp for the wheels n fork, and it’s full XT now, and being an XL it’s just barely under 29#, but I’m already oogling a set of hunt xc race wheel that should get me down another pound and change so here’s to another $500🤣, but the stock wheels can go on my daughters bike for when we do xc rides, and keep her other set for chunkier stuff. But I love mine, how was your first ride on yours?

it is pretty stiff for an econobox but the rest of the suspension is very flexy/soft. I have swaybars and that helps but can still feel the softness of the stock springs....but compared to my Miata it is night and day

Hey Ben ! can you give me you experienced opinon on a 2010 honda sh150i with 8,000 miles. I am thinking of buying for 2,000. parts seem to be available still. how many worry free miles you think i can expect from this scooter ?
@DaBinChe

I would say honda scooters are good for 50k miles before things wear and needs attention. Other wise it is the normal scooter stuff: drive belt, variator, roller weights, brake pads, and fluids.

I'm think of that too but not sure if it is worth it to do so. From what I hear the internals are the same setup just the materials is higher grade in the higher end shock. I think as is it rides well. Depending on what fork, if using a Fox, might want to try a FoxShox

Thanks for this. I got so pissed that I grabbed that mushroom shaped metal piece barehanded and pulled the whole insert out. I was twisting it with the same Vessel screwdriver that you have there and just yanked out the throttle side. If you didn't know those grey handled ones are self contained impact screwdrivers. Hit the end with a hammer and it'll twist counter clockwise.
