Will that not being set correctly will it cause my belt to jump off??
@south_coast28 минут бұрын
Throttle adjustment shouldn’t make the belt pop off…belt tension being too light or debris can cause it though.

where did you get the tire gauge? what brand? Never mind, I found it. Intercomp The cheapest I found was $65. Boy, they really are proud of them, haha.

Yeah they aren’t cheap but I like it. It’s got a big enough range to use on my mower as well as my truck tires at 85 psi. It is well built. Intercomp is a trusted brand in the motor sports world.

Why didn't you put oil in filter before installing? The manual indicates to fill filter with oil before installing.

To be honest I didn’t read in the manual on how to do the oil change. It’s such a small volume, I wasn’t worried about it.

Good job teaching yourself to sharpen. Holding the same angle for every pass, and being sure to grind fully to the apex are keys. Colouring the bevel with a marking pen can show if you have the right angle and it's sharpened to the apex completely. All the best.

I may not know what I'm talking about but aren't the blades spinning on machined precision spindles so with good blades and spindles shouldn't the blades be the same distance from the bottom of the deck? Seems like you could just measure from a flat surface to the bottom of the deck at all 4 corners and set those to specs.
@south_coast18 күн бұрын
You probably could and be just fine. I just don’t know what tolerances they hold when building the deck itself, and I don’t know what the runout is corner to corner. It’s probably close enough, but I just wanted to double check.

Nice video, I'm around 70ish hrs. On my 21 maverick Kawasaki 60".... getting ready to do my hydro gear fluid. Unlike yours, I do not have the reservoirs. I was able to buy a kit that hooks directly to the fill cap. It's from the ZT hydro gear company, so it's not some gimmick bs. My biggest complaint is my armrest are now held up by rope. I'm too fat to use them, and they began falling down after 10-15 seconds after I put them back up... I do not see access to tighten them... Complaint #2 are the tires, they were decent off the get, now warn I'm constantly getting stuck. And there aren't any other tread choices in this oddball size 23x11x12...... now my polaris 500 rear tires are 25x11x12, same thing just a tick bigger. I have a set of SUNF that I got for a decent price off Amazon, I plan on buying a pair for the mower, I just hope they clear the deck

I really enjoy your videos. My favorite push mower is a Lawnboy 21" with a magnesium deck from the 1980s. It has offset wheels making turns easier and better edging. It will also bag grass perfectly. I have had mine since 1985. What you do is find a Lawnboy mower for its deck. Then you place a briggs and stratton engine on it. Now you have the best push mower in the world with little cost that will last a lifetime. I would send you a picture of mine, but I don't know how to do that. Good luck and keep up the great videos.

I had to buy a new battery for my John Deere mower because the old one tested bad and was 5 years old. After connecting the new battery, I put a new one of these tenders on it. It immediately went to "solid red". Should the new battery really need charging? I use the battery cable claps to connect it. Thanks

Why does everyone's deck always look less rusty and more clean than mine?? LoL
@south_coastАй бұрын
I try to keep mine clean by blowing or hosing it off after every cut, and scraping the underside after every few cuts. Make sure to get and wet clumps of grass off of it before you put it away.
@greggreen6636Ай бұрын
Looks like it from build up under deck. I been running the gold blades on 2 of my 3 mowers without anything like this. They have been great
@south_coastАй бұрын
I had that thought too, but I scrape my deck after every 2-3 cuts and there is never a ton of build up. I think it’s from the sandy areas in my yard more than anything, but it’s still surprising to see.
@millerm155Ай бұрын
It's a constant problem with me. Maverick HD 54' deck. Purchased new at the end of the season last year and have already destroyed two sets of blades. Four acres of sandy turf. I always try to mow just after it rains and it helps. It has not been just with this mower and blades. All the previous mowers have produced the same result. I did use a finish mower (Rhino TM60) and would run it at a lower RPM and that would prolong the life of the blades. I have not found a blade that will last more than 4 cuttings with the Maverick HD. The good news it I never worry about grass accumulating under the deck. The inside of my deck is always clean.
@south_coastАй бұрын
Interesting. Maybe it’s the bare patches from all the construction traffic are contributing to it. But still, I’m surprised they got this bad.

I have a question to see if you can answer it. I have a bad boy Mavic and my steering arms one of them works real good. The other one doesn’t react as well. I don’t know if it’s a linkage or if it needs to be greased up so when I go in reverse, I believe it’s the right side I have to pull it twice as far back for it to work, the problem is I don’t know what the problem is. Everything seems to be OK.
@south_coastАй бұрын
Are they even when you are going forward or does the right one need twice as much input?

Like the other guy said, check your service manual. My bad boy is supposed to be 1/4 inch higher in the rear of the deck than the front. Gauge your deck height off the front, then raise the rear by 1/4" is what mine said to do.

Just found your channel, new Bad Boy Maverick owner (guess that makes me a Bad Girl). Apologies if you covered this before, any ideas on how to fix the little mohawks left behind by BB? Other owners complain about this. Upgrade pulleys, speed?
@south_coastАй бұрын
I’ve only ended up with issues like you are talking about is if my blades get real dull or my deck gets out of level. I’ve also heard of this issue being caused by the underside of the deck getting clogged. Maybe try scraping your deck.
@paularust9162Ай бұрын
It only has 12 hours on it, not clogged, blades are new. I'll check level. Thx
@RuhdiculusАй бұрын
