It is my belief that the moment that humans stopped believing in the interconnectedness of us all and with the elements we started the spiral to destruction we now face. There is no god, no heaven, hell or damnation after death. But there is evil and it is the minds and hearts of those who do not care for others and cannot see that it is that common thread that binds us that is the supreme being. Animals with their more basic thinking abilities even, have not sunk to the depths we have and their connection with each other is, after millions of years, still strong. That is why they were here before us and unless we blow everything up, will be here long after we have disappeared. No other animal, even microbes, destroy their own home environment.
