Hi, thanks for your comment, I'm so pleased you enjoyed the video! Sungrow is not actually a brand we have installed or have had requested by customers so sadly I can't comment. We've installed a huge array of brands but our most popular ones are SolarEdge, Fox, Alpha, MyEnergi to name a few.

Surely you'd be better off on intelligent octopus 🐙 go at 7.5p a KWH off peak for longer as you have a zappi which pairs well with IOG. And it gives you a better export option to at 15p a kW

Ah yeah, the issue is that it won’t work with home batteries and with two different EVs. Or at least I don’t think so. Will check with Octopus support.

@putasokinhet I have a home battery 🔋 (power wall 2) and a model x and it works well for me, And because its the zappi that is controlled by IOG it wouldn't matter if I had a second EV you just make sure you put the details in of the one with the bigger battery.

Hi lee , I’m on intelligent octopus go but dont seem to have an export rate . We have solar so this would be beneficial. How do you get an export rate ?
@leehartshorn1479

@persona250 assuming you have solar or solar and battery to be able to export get in contact with octopus and they'll need details such as you export MPAN and other details from your install and DNO approval etc

But the weak point is that we cannot add on a Wind Turbine output. A small turbine could be setup to feed DC to the inverter to keep the battery topped up. Power outage through a winter night the battery won’t last long. I cannot get any positive info out of Solaredge.

where you are annual solar capacity factor is about 10%(the ratio of full power to actual power) In winter about 3%. These will never payback.
@UpsideDownFork
@UpsideDownFork 5 ай бұрын
Average real world annual generation for UK is 1mWh per 1kWp. If you discount the batteries in the system and export on a SEG paying 15p/kWh then most systems will be paid off in approx 5 years based on the current high energy prices. Batteries do take longer to produce a ROI and of course prices could fluctuate. If the prices fall then payback will extend of course.

I am only at step one, but already feel more at ease with these guys, than any others that I have come across. I have investigated a little and had three other companies around, to dip my toe into the pond, and all three have the same spill and all go on 'companies house to dis any other company mentioned. It's a big investment and the conversation I have had with Rebecca feels so uniquely different in a more friendly way. Lets hope step two works out !

I would be very nervous about having a battery and car charging unit within a building, especially a dwelling. I think the regulations are going to have to get a lot more stringent if we are all expected to install such a systems.

We've never had customers experience issues like this since we started installing solar panels, batteries and EV charge points. We do, however, only install the best products on the market, meaning they've passed stringent quality and safety tests where some inferior brands may not. For example, we love installing SolarEdge, a top brand who are absolutely leading the way in safety. Feel free to check them out, we have another video with Jason introducing all these safety features.
