I have greyhounds, that’s pretty much the only way they sleep. We call it roaching, because it looks like a dead roach.

It’s a dog fact that when they sleep with their belly exposed that they feel very very comfortable sleeping like this! They do not fear predators. They sleep like then when safe❤❤❤❤

Yes they do❤ mines turning 9 this year n shes gettin old. Breaks my heart seeing her slow down n get grey. Cherish the moments n record the memories because it goes so fast😢

Venus is around 8 years old. The vets thought she was about 4.5 to 5 years old when we rescued her. I’m staring at her and watching her sleep right now. That’s really great advice- to cherish the memories. Thank you 🙏🏿

Omg I could totally see that. Ha ha. She loves playing with a tennis ball but her teeth are worn down from chewing on the bars of her cage she used to be kept in. But I’d love to try it with a soft one at the beach for catch & fetch!

She’s a rescue dog and was used for breeding. She was near death when we got her.

If your dog is afraid of thunder and lightning you shouldn't pet him. This way you kinda rubbing and feeding the fear even more. He can sit beside you, but don't touch or talk to the dog.

Had a golden who was terrified of thunderstorms. He would chew the door frames due to anxiety whenever there was a storm.

You are doing right by being by her side. Most dogs are afraid of that sound. My dog turns into a whining baby and demands to cuddle.

I found the best thing to do,only helps somewhat, try and block the sound as much as possible. My vet actually suggested cotton wool. She also said,there is something you should never do. Tell them it okay,good doggy, you'll be okay, basically rewarding their behaviour with word, letting them know they are right to be scared. Just sit beside them calmly,say nothing,and don't over pet them. They will also react to you,be as chilled as you possibly can.

I had a dog that was very afraid of storms. I just wrapped him in a sheet or blanket & cuddled w him.

My huskies don't like it either. On the 4th of July I give them benadryl and make a pallet on the floor and lay with them. Every year going on 9 I haven't gone to see fireworks. I quit a job that scheduled me to work the 4th. 9 months before I told them I absolutely will not work on the 4th because I need to be home with my animals including my cats. They lied. Told me I could have the 4th off. They were surprised when I saw the schedule, told them off and quit.

Thunder coat didn’t work for my Aussie either. He hid in bathroom tub behind shower curtain. Cat did the same. Thunder and fireworks. 😢😢

Aww... I tell my dog that all is well, that's just God's dog rolling his bone across the floor lol. Thankful she seems to guard/alert over the threat outside 🐾🐾💞💫

Sometimes I’ll put music on real loud to try to distract her. It’s kind of cute watching her get up and run into the bathroom, but then I feel sad right away.
