i think this saw and the milwaukee version are pretty similar. ive owned both and they seem pretty much the same when it comes to power and weight. the only real issues i have with this saw are the single bevel and the awful LED light it has. i really dont see what the point of it is. it doesnt cast a shadow line and it hardly lights up the work area

Check the vents to make sure they are not clogged. Some will stay on for years by just turning down the heat setting which is just bypassing the questionable thermostat and others may need repaired. My guess the core problem with these thermostats is they give off incorrect high temp readings which triggers the safety feature to shut off pilot. If that reading is somewhat in range, you can get by with the temp setting being lowered (mine hasn't went off in 3 years now)...if its way off then you may need to replace the thermostat. Good luck.

In the beginning of the video you mention your dad's old saw and that the long life of that saw is reason enough to consider the same brand today. Not for me - these days, nothing is built to last like it was when your Dad's saw was new, no matter the brand. I'll bet your dad's saw was not made in China. I'll buy this saw because it's "cheap" and then it will crap out in a year or two and it'll probably end up in a land fill with a million other crapped out power tools made in China. Sad, but that's today's way versus back in the day when your dad's saw was new.
@TeamDIYNow
@TeamDIYNow 2 күн бұрын
Yea I agree, there isn't hardly any brand that makes things as they did 50 years ago as they have to be able to compete at a fair price. I was coming more from the fact that Skil invented the first circular saw many years ago and the brand is still around today. Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc all make the majority of their tools in China as well. The reality is we all want made in US tools, but only a fraction would pay the premium price in order to do so which forces these companies to produce in other countries.

Great vid! Could you do a vid or tell me where the condenser coils are that I need to clear are located?... usually behind the front bottom grill or in the back bottom, but can't find them on this model. Thank you!
@TeamDIYNow
@TeamDIYNow 2 күн бұрын
Glad you liked it! Most of the coils are built into the freezer walls anymore. For this model, you should be able to remove the cover from the inside by removing a few screws. Open the door, look at the bottom in the back and remove those screws and the evaporator should be tucked behind that panel.

Yes on the pump side there should only be 1 o-ring on the high pressure line. The return line at the pump only uses hose clamp. On the other end of those lines that goes to the power steering rack you will have an o-ring on both lines.

I've been using that Bosch now for a little over 6 months. The angle light is a gimmick, it isn't even close to 100% accurate and it isn't what I'd call active, once you get the drill to the set level it turns green, then goes out, it doesn't stay green or turn red if you go off angle. The Aux handle is NOT optional. The Kickback control is both a blessing and a pain the backside, does it work, yes, yes it does, however when you turn it off, it doesn't stay off, once you release the trigger it re-enables, which can be annoying if you are using the drill for something other than drilling a hole, such as a wire wheel or detailing brush, that said, I'd never buy another drill without it.

Is there a reason for not filling the gear lube from the top instead of the drain plug on the bottom?
@TeamDIYNow
@TeamDIYNow 8 күн бұрын
The reason you need to fill from the bottom is it minimizes air bubbles that could get trapped inside which could prevent the lube from getting to the bottom of gearcase on startup. Also, if there are air bubble voids inside you risk not putting the correct amount of lube inside the gearcase. By filling from the bottom, you are slowly pushing the air bubbles out of the vent on the top.

The lines I was referring to are the ones that connect the rack to the pump. The same pressure and return lines that connect to the power steering pump connect to the steering rack. One big thing you are not taking into consideration here- you will get many, many more full charges with the powerstack over other and also, as the battery power is drained, the powerstack with hold it's power output consistently until almost completely drained whereas the other type will steadily lose more and more power until dead.

Very helpful video, thank you. Currently in Thailand really enjoying Lazada online shopping with fast delivery, and genuine Dewalt tools here are ~20-30% cheaper than at home. However the fakes are EVERYWHERE. Generally you can tell simply by the price, but not always, so this was a helpful video. Also, it's often not the IT Departments fault when "IT" problems like the QR codes being useless happens. Unfortunately most IT teams are under the control of the Finance department, and you know what that means! Rule by accountants, dumb decisions everywhere. Then there's the general business users who love to corrupt data, not follow basic instructions, and end up screwing up the data so its no longer reliable (as I suspect has happened with DeWalt's QR system). Eitherway, take care, and thank you.

On the radio, it will not broadcast bluetooth if the source is not on bluetooth. When its on AM/FM or AUX, the bluetooth will not broadcast/connect to any devices. For connected ready tools that require you to purchase the optional bluetooth module...you can turn off by not installing the module.

I'd like to see this compared to the 15amp Craftsman corded saw (on sale for $69). While $30 more, it has a much better footplate made of ribbed magnesium. I had a Skil Mag 77 worm drive (circa 200 model) and it's one drawback was the crap plate which bent over time. You'll notice any high end saw now has a ribbed plate. It's simply better in the long run. Even my cordless 20v Hercules has it (oddly their $99 corded doesn't which is why I'm buying the Craftsman).

The only time you need to bleed the brakes is if you change brake calipers or disconnect a brake hose as that allows air to get into the system. I do not know which model I have, but I HATED it. There is an order as to which leg folds up first, and 50% of the time I got it folder in the wrong order. You have to make sure the feet are in the correct orientation to get the legs to fold up. If the sawhorse is on its side, the feet will not orient properly. They are not very durable. If you open the legs too far apart, the metal would bend. The only benefit is that they are compact when folded up. In a nutshell, I hated folding it up and they do not seem very durable. When I am on the job site, I don’t want to focus on the sawhorse. Regret wasting my money on it.

All the other items that are still prime but sold by a 3rd party are a wildcard unless you recognize the name (Grainger, etc). In the legal disclaimer they talk about when the ownership is Amz (sold by Amz) and when its the 3rd party seller who takes responsibility. Amazon prime just means they take ownership of the delivery. This isn't just a tool thing either, there are so many counterfeit items out there in every single industry its getting ridiculous.

What makes you feel that you have a counterfeit battery? Dewalts warranty process sometimes requires a receipt from an authorized seller and other times just the serial/date code they will honor warranty. The counterfeit batteries that don't have a valid serial/date code are for sure going to be rejected by Dewalt. However, if you happen to get a counterfeit that also has a legit serial/date code printed and it passes Dewalts serial number check through customer service then you may have a good chance it will be protected by Dewalts warranty.
@KLondike5
@KLondike5 17 күн бұрын
@@TeamDIYNow Maybe they figured out the algorithm for generating valid codes. That's been common with software. Project Farm also noted his fakes were accepted by the website. It's possible the DeWalt website is just taking the numbers to track even if they're not legit. I didn't know it at the time but obviously the price I paid for my batteries makes it impossible for them to be genuine. They both have generic named cells in them. One was a better fake by having the proper security screws and plating a couple terminals so that they look like fully copper. But It appears newer DeWalt batteries don't necessarily have the copper terminals anymore. But I only entered it via the QR scan. It is a legit DeWalt site but I didn't try the "add a tool" in the personal profile. section.

@@KLondike5 Yea I don't think the copper terminals or the security torx is something we can rely on anymore. All genuine Powerstacks come with standard torx. In addition, some XR 5.0 batteries have regular torx as well. I have 5 XR batteries all purchased from Lowes in the last 5 years and some have the security torx and others don't. If you go to your local HD or Lowes, check some on the shelf some have some dont. Im not sure about the QR scan as none of the batteries use to work via the QR the last time I checked (just checked now and mine still dont). The tool QR codes always took you right to the specs but for me the batteries never did.
