Wonder if anyone thinks of how his mama felt. In that time so much was different, and women were, especially, a Christian woman did what she needed to do to keep the family together. I’m sure she lived in fear. This is very touching, but, it’s not all the story. Just my thoughts.

This man's music shaped so much of my early faith walk back in the 80s. I am sad that he's been through so much but what a way to give God glory for even the worst of circumstances.

Thank you for being so vulnerable in telling your story. I am a pastors wife who has a son who did what your daughter did to you. It’s not fair, it hurts and it can cripple us if we let it but our God is bigger than all of our problems. Thank you for sharing and letting us know that we are not alone in all this. Praise God!

The sad thing about the prescription for the eye drops is it would not work either considering the way doctors write in scribble form and not even the pharmacy can read the words.

1:24:00 The preacher teaching his sons how to die. WHAT AN AMAZING AND STRONG WITNESS. One that we will all need. Help us Lord to live AND die to Your glory as we struggle to commit to, ' Not my will but Thine' each day. Bearing our crosses daily to and for Your glory. Knowing the victory is already won and THOU ART WITH ME. Please Lord, give peace in the valley. Thank you for this incredible witness. Many share these cptsd, dysfunctional family dynamic with alcoholic and narcissistic elements. Dragging demons into the light is why Satan's gates cannot withstand the Church. Jesus IS the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.

I am struggling. I was going through You Tube and found your documentary . I so relate to your story. Thank you for being obedient to God's calling on your life. You are enough and by the grace of God, I am enough! ❤

What satan meant for evil God meant for good! The whole time you were writing and performing God used it for His glory! He knew you would heal. I understand all of it as I was an alcoholic who was raised in a non Christian alcoholic home. Praying for your continued healing and enlightenment as you go forward! PRAISE THE LORD!!

Your music inspired a generation of young Christians in the 80s when I was a youth pastor. I remember bringing a group to see you in Chicago when you appeared on Channel 38, a Christian TV station. You were such a kind and thoughtful person in the interview. Watching this video, I was gripped by your story and could feel your pain as you relived it. What amazed me most, was how you never let go of your faith when you had every reason to by what you experienced. I’m sharing this video with other people who I know will be impacted by your testimony of God’s grace in your life. Thank you for being God’s instrument to the world!

I could lecture 4 hours on this topic my ancestors were druid witches that converted to Catholicism finally into Protestant we've got hundreds of years of Alcoholics musicians in my family. There is no Darker Demon than the demon of Alcohol. Don't be deceived I do not believe a Christian can drink alcohol and say their saved, and neither could I. 25 now, Sister 15 years now only Jesus
