This game does what Nintendon't (with F-Zero GX still not remastered). Plus the cel-shaded graphics actually make it easier to make out the road ahead - a good choice for games of this speed!

I think I’m starting to see some issues with the double bar system: if you can manage to remain in 1st place, chances are you won’t be losing any health at all which would detract from the challenge. However, in case you use up all your boost energy, what if you can then use your health bar as auxiliary boost energy, but doing so takes up large chunks of the health bar, putting you at risk if you boost too much?

@@lordhokage7181 Redout is a more recent AG racer franchise, notable for having gameplay comparable to Wipeout but with speeds higher than F-Zero GX. Features twin stick controls for more streamlined airbraking. In Redout, you have a double bar like in Aero GPX, but you have 2 boost types, a slow drain and a much more powerful, faster draining boost. With either boost, if you overheat your boost gauge you'll consume hull integrity instead. Your hull will slowly repair itself after a few seconds, but ONLY if you don't touch any walls. It's a pretty interesting series; Madel has a few vids on it if you're interested.

The boosting works exactly how I imagined it for Aero GPX. The only difference would be that when boosting, you’d just use up a chunk of the health bar instead of losing it little by little.

Yeah... the healt bar it's used too for the "burning state". It's a risk-reward mechanic not showed completly in this video, You can use the fire columns (last circuit) for gain more speed with jumps

In addition to my comment about the game itself, I gotta give props to Madel for the sick driving. As a fan of the genre, I definitely want to see someone who's GOOD at the game so I know what it looks like and what kind of advanced techniques and mechanics there are. It's so much better to see what kind of game it is compared to a journalist recording their first time ever touching the game struggling to learn the basics. And the quality is always top notch as well. Thanks for the upload!

So much about this game looks SO awesome! The characters look amazing, the machines like sick, and the tracks seem like good design. That last one especially looked like it has interesting high risk, high reward options. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I'd say the weakest things right now are a wimpy boost sound/visual and some slim details on the backgrounds, but hopefully that's stuff that gets improved as development continues.

Hi mate, so... Aaron (AeroGPX Dev/Creator) says that he want to release the game in Early Access on August 6th. Here is the roadmap: · Content that will be in the Early Access launch: - 3 Grand Prix Cups (15 tracks) - 2 Career Divisions (15 events, including 4 unique scenario/story events and a tutorial event) - 15 machines/pilots - 4 Instant Action modes of play (Grand Prix, Single Race, Time Trials, and Practice) · Rough Roadmap for Early Access Updates - October 2024 : 5 machines/pilots, 1 Grand Prix Cup, 1 Career Division - December 2024 : 5 machines/pilots, 2 Career Divisions, Time Trial Ghost recording/playback - March/April 2025 : (1.0 release!) Final 5 machines/pilots, Local Multiplayer, final Grand Prix Cup, and final Career Division, Credits Sequence. And yeah... I know about Erik, I speak with him some time ago, nice guy and he is doing a nice job preserving the AG Racing 🔥🔥

I didn't mean the music tracks even though they're okay too, I meant the design style of the courses specifically and how a player should navigate through them. I also think the futuristic architecture of the courses are pretty cool. Edit: I'm into well built tracks that are hella long endurance races. Is probably what I meant. Of course though I can't do F-Zero GX's Phantom Road Slim-line Slits. 'T's friggin impossible sometimes 💀

@@vestalhearth127 well a lot of the tracks are great. The individual tracks themselves are 2 minutes long, shorter if you have stronger ships. But the boss tracks, including the one in this video, combine all the individual tracks so it fits into one "boss track"

@@MG-mh8xp oh. THAT'S why the boss courses are so lengthy. Yeah, I didn't even know that because I'm a bit "new" to Redout. I was looking at things like Aero GPX and other games that reminded me of F-Zero, and so that's how I discovered Redout a couple months ago. But oh boy. Just a few minutes in on Redout 2 gameplay footage, and I'll admit, I was a bit hooked on watching the races... It's good stuff. 🔥 *obviously lives under a desert rock*

Gameplay is perfect, track designs are awesome and music is catchy. The only thing I would tell the developers to fix is to suit the difficulty according to the challenge it should represent. I am refering that even if it is being played on Extreme, you can get pass the other drivers quite easy, finish on first place without many problems and they barely attack you. If Extreme is like this, I can't imagine how easy would be the lowest level. Otherwise, I admire the developers for their hard work and dedication to this project, and I will buy this game as soon as I can.

My high ass can't tell if it's a feature of the machine or a clever perspective trick, but the way that the wings (on the 3rd machine) start to SPREAD as you go faster is so fuckin cool. This game looks awesome!

il manque les plaques de sauts pour prendre des raccourcis, comme X/GX, c'est des lignes droites sans originalités ces courses (c'est sûrement aussi pour ça qu'ils ont pas continuer les jeux F-Zero, la difficulté de placer les plaques de sauts dans les loopings de zinzin qu'il y à partout dans les courses)

What's the point of the fuel and hull if they never dip down below like 95% It'd be more interesting if they were a long-term mechanic you maintained over time, like you use earnings from races to balance fuel / hull repairs / R&D like Nascar Thunder. As-is they just occupy screen space
