Lovely van but i dont see any advantages in the pop up roof as its over 2M high so it won't be able to get under height barriers, and also its a big disadvantage in respect of storage , the only advantage is probably fuel efficiency , but if you can afford such a van i dont think youd be thinking of fuel efficiency , but it would still be a nice van for some people Thanks for a great review as always

I wish it had a split rear door up and down so you could the bottom half to sit on. Also they should solar panels built in in this day and age. Does the bottom bed in the Ocean go into a reclining position? Does the hybrid have diesel heating? I liked the table in the door because you didn’t have to get wet to take it out of it was raining

This is possibly the worst designed van I have ever seen. Seems to me it was created by someone who hates campervans. And then there's the price tag 😳 I wouldn't give them £9k for it, let alone £95k. Truly truly awful. Sorry to anyone who likes this monstrosity, but it definitely is not for me 😂

surely ther ear wheels need pushing out into the wheel wells a bit more?? Must make it handle like an old mattress, really spoils the look of the van.

Hi, a bit odd that the bedroom mattress sits half way up the windows. Also, with bedding in place it’s unlikely you would see out these windows. Interesting but don’t feel it will sell well.

Great video again, thanks! The front of this van seems pretty well-designed and spacious. But honestly, the lack of kitchen storage (less than a Cali Ocean as far as I can see) plus the very strange engineering decisions taken around extending the bathroom to make a shower space make this one a hard no. An absolute faff which could have been avoided with a conventional bathroom design. I also think - despite the space inside - this van would feel very claustrophobic due to the tiny windows. Surely they could have at least put one in the door. I think this van will be remembered as a strange oddity and doubt it will have a long sale life.

I think that if there is a 'deal breaker' on this particular van, it would be having to keep the pop-up 'up button' depressed for such a lengthy time. I fail to see the purpose if the roof automatically stops when it reaches full height anyway. If you were able to push the button once and start setting up things outside or simply going for a walk or whatnot, it would not be an issue. Knaus need to fix that immediately.

Don’t think this concept will catch on. Total lack of storage. Cannot use inside with roof down. So much faffing about when setting up shower.

Love the design and the engineering but not being able to use the bed with the roof down is a bit of a problem in the UK. I’m sure they could engineer the bed to move up and down as well
@andrewjones-productions
@andrewjones-productions 5 күн бұрын
Not just the UK. Japan too. For some unknown and unfathomable reason, you aren't allowed to put up a pop-up in a Service Area, Parking Area (think Motorway services) or a 'Michi-No-Eki' (Road Station - like motorway services, but on ordinary roads). That's two countries already and if there are two, there are likely more. So your point is a very good one.

Hi guys, someone really though about this MH but to much £ but because you can drive under barriers it's OK for only 1 vehicle,didn't really think about rear door hiding the air vent ! Can't sleep without putting roof up !!! How many times at 2am woken but high winds ! Like the concept but could do better.

Excellent video as always. Re. The subject matter. Volkswagen have clearly lost the plot. The reason why we all love campervans is because they're a van. The clue is in the name! These new California's are based on a VW Golf chassis and running gear. We don't want a 'VW Campercar,' we want and love VW Campervans! Suffice to say, as an owner of a T6.1 Surf and having previously owned a T6 Beach and a T6.1 Coast. VW won't be getting anymore business from me!

@22:48 “next time you don’t have to do any of that planning, you just know that next time coming to the NEC you charge here” See this is the major issue I have with EVs and their infrastructure currently. In an ICE vehicle I don’t have to think like that at all, I just get fuel when it’s convenient and I know If I get stuck in traffic, in a queue at an accident or I come to the site I had planned to fuel up at and it’s unavailable for some reason I’m not then panicking about running out of battery or being caught in a red line situation. It’s just too stressful to even contemplate tbh so until that aspect of range anxiety is sorted I just couldn’t switch to a full EV. The Buzz is cute though and those wee Easter eggs are adorable.

It’s a shame that KZfaq as become one big Advert. They get this stuff for free and sometimes money to review stuff. Just like others they will tell you a slight issues. But 99% good and that’s enough to get you to buy one. Job done. We are at a lovely campsite 10 seconds, Now look at what we want to sell to you because we are now a Shopping channel. I can’t blame them in anyway for it, we all need to make money and we all want stuff for free. But it just becoming like QVC.

I applaud the fact that manufacturers like Knaus are trying really hard to be creative. But TBF this bathroom solution seems ill-thought-out at best (and likely to break at worst). What a faff; and worse, it negates the point of going bigger than a Transporter-type camping solution - that everything's already set up and you do minimal config to "camp" or strike camp. Hard pass, I'm afraid but thanks again for another engaging video.

I would like to see more reporting on the electrics. How does these two new aux batteries charge. What is the max power from them. Does the PHEV offer access to main battery for accessories. Can I use a solar panel to charge the aux batteries.
@ABusAndBeyond
@ABusAndBeyond 14 күн бұрын
The auxiliary/leisure batteries will charge via the engine running or plugging in to hook up. The max capacity is 80Ah (2x40Ah on the Coast and Ocean). That’ll run the fridge for a long time off grid. Well over a week I suspect. I doubt you’ll be able to do anything with the PHEV battery as it’ll be a completely different voltage. Yes you’ll be able to charge the leisure battery with a solar panel but it’ll require aftermarket wiring/panel unless VW launch one
