My brand new 54" ZTR mower has extremely tight lap bars, making it impossible to use for a long time. Can the tension be adjusted on the lap bars or is is possibly something else?
@RayofallTrades6 сағат бұрын
Usually the pivot bolts can be loosened but you have to watch out the the nuts don’t fall completely apart
@bobhunter305017 сағат бұрын
Really, How does this thing sharpen the gullet ? You want a Razor sharp chain . First, put a guide on file, sharpen the tooth . Second, remove the guide and sharpen the gullet . Third, don’t forget to check the rackers . U will be amazed how long your chain will cut .
@RayofallTrades17 сағат бұрын
Yes it does everything you mentioned. Circular file gives a correct gullet shape, holding at the 10 degree rake angle and a 30-35 degree sharpening angle gives a razor sharp tooth and the flat file on the tool takes the raker to .020 depth. Try it out. I was amazed

Your about to have carb issues again the shadow has an issue with the plug wire coming from the coil grounding out on the plate that has that rubber diaphram and spring under it, itll burn a hole and cause it to run horribly. Thats what that black dot is. Mine done it after 35k miles easy fix with jb weld tho
@RayofallTradesКүн бұрын
Oh really? Are you talking about the heater circuit on the bottom? You said jbweld might do it? If so, I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
@redwolfmotovlogsandstuff7302Күн бұрын
@RayofallTrades the spark plug wire coming from the coil that rests on the carb. the one you removed to make room to remove the carb. The plug wire will ark over on the carb and essentially plasma cut a tiny hole in that plate.

what the heck is that tube and filter coming off the air box going to the crank case I believe?

The metal one? Intake manifold. Rubber one? Breather
@twentyonepilotsofn6277Күн бұрын
@@RayofallTrades must be the breather thing. It's rubber and coming off the air intake box/filter. It goes into the air box with a nut. Makes zero sense to me. Must be Chinese silliness.

excellent vid Ray, well done and educational with the explanations. Glad to become a subscriber and confident will get mine going now. Primer not bringing gas up, can test the bulb as you showed if i take carb off but you suspected it was the line--------what suggested that, brittle alone wouldnt made it bad would it?

I just replaced the line running from the front to the back of a 2001 Dakota. Mine has bubble flares with metric 10mm x 1.0 threads on the tube nuts. The so called copper nickel on Amazon labeled 4lifetime is magnetic. The local parts store carries the AGS brand that is not magnetic. I used masking tape to attach the old line to the new line as i bent it. I used a propane torch to heat the tube nuts in order to get them loose.

@spelunkerd15 күн бұрын
That was a good explanation. When you disconnected the fuel line and gas squirted out, it made me wonder if the vent for the fuel tank was occluded. Shouldn't the vent allow equalization of air pressure so you won't get pressurized fuel forced out when ambient temp increases?
@RayofallTrades15 күн бұрын
Absolutely worth checking. keeping in mind the vent is usually slow to respond. Good idea and thanks for commenting!

@@etodd568gotcha. I put about half capful and spread it around on the prefilter. It captures a little more dirt than a dry filter. Similar to the old oil bath air filters. It is just enough oil to coat but not saturate. Hope that helps
