I miss when he was sassy in his rookie season. He has a very different personality nowadays. The Canucks organization probably told him he had to speak to the media in a certain way.

with such great passing ability, i wonder how Karlsson would have turned out if he was a Center?
@rawzuccsauce4202
@rawzuccsauce4202 4 жыл бұрын
My guess would be horribly because being a center requires defensive responsibility, and he doesn't have that.

@@rawzuccsauce4202 you're nuts. Karlsson is criminally underrated defensively. people think he's a liability in his own end. This is so far from the truth. -If he touches the puck in his zone he clears it with control 99% of the time. -his defensive stick skills are top tier. -his agility allows him to stick to slippery puck carriers -He's small but a surprisingly effective body checker. -If he makes a mistake at the offensive blue line leading to a break away, his speed and acceleration allow him to catch up and break up the play. -If he pinches deep and the play goes the other way, he is fast and aggressive enough to usually be first d man back even though he might have been behind the opposing net.

@@TheRichardson711 Bro what? No. That's just not true. I'm not sure what you're watching. People like you criminally overrate his defense. I think he has the potential to play well defensively, and I know he has played solid in the past, but in 2019-2020 I wanted to shoot myself every time the puck was in our end with Karlsson defending. Not sure if you watched him last year, but it was pretty dang bad. He can't box out in front of the net, never has his head on a swivel, is horrible at getting in passing lanes, gets bodied off the puck a ton and gets absolutely humiliated 1 on 1. He's usually good about getting the puck out, but every once in awhile he'll make a HUGE mistake which will lose us the game. I hope he turns it around and I haven't lost faith in him, but he was absolutely abysmal last season.

@@rawzuccsauce4202 sure, I can't say how he's doing on the sharks. I only hear that overall he's way off his game, so I'm sure you're right. I'm speaking in general, the majority of his career he was fantastic defensively. He could never clear the net or rub people off the puck in a board battle, or some of the other prototypical shut down skills. But the other things I mentioned made up for those deficiencies. I wonder what's up with him. Maybe he's still injured. Or maybe there's no chemistry with his partner. Methot was a match made in heaven, he probably helped hide some of karlsson's weaknesses. Or maybe the guy is mentally checked out.

i think he's meshing pretty well with the sharks, they look like they're having fun. Sharks has wayyy too much skill to fuck it up this year, my only question mark is Jones, he's only getting the wins simply because sharks has so much firepower and they outscore the opponents, even if it's 6-5 or something, Jones' save % and gaa are terrible right now for a starting goalie.
