Wasted a lot of time in vacum cleaning the trash. I would go straight for pressure washer & detergent. And more important inner rinsing.

Hopefully you disposed of the chemicals properly, and not down the sink drain.

I just had a few sets of 15" rims sandblasted. They were very rough. $20 each. A few rattle cans of turbo Rustolieum and they look good. Will the paint hold up? I have NO idea.

Wouldn't it be easier to laser clean the rim? Definitely way faster and therefore more cost-effective...

The acid bath used here can only be purchased under licence in the U.K. you can’t just pick up a bottle at Halfords ( I don’t think)..

If it’s a soft plastic paint it will only last a few days max.

I’m not sure why you were even cleaning the coolant overflow tank and going to all this trouble. I didn’t even know what you were using for liquids until finally I noticed some description on the top left. However, I am not a chemist, so I don’t know what all those symbols mean. Unless you have a classic car and everything perfectly clean this is a waste of time and you’re messing up your dishwasher. For $25 you can buy a brand new overflow tank for most cars.

Did you use a liquid or mix a powder or crystal with water?
