What is my cost for a double wide container for a house in North Carolina near Fayetteville NC? You have shown a few more options in another video....?

Can you ship a container that has been combined overseas?

I used to be big on the idea of containers for underground structures but when you look into some basic engineering what you find is sqaures are week on the sides and strong on the angles. If you want to bury something you have to over compensate like Ron does with his platinum series bunkers I-Beams all across and along the sides of the steel square. Or you could use a shape like a cylinder like a round culvert pipe. You won't have to do much of anything to it, and it will go much much deeper.

I will be converting a container into a mobile concession stand. Your videos have helped a lot in the planification of the project but, what would you recommend for insulation since it will be mobile unit and we want to make sure we don't have any bridging on condensation, and you mentioned on this video that if moved after spray foaming can have a pop in the foam. Can you please help?
@TheContainerGuyTV

Make sure it's level when you foam. Frame with the thicker (structural) 18 ga steel studs. Once those are locked into the foam, it'll act like rebar in concrete and stiffen up the whole assembly. Try and handle the container from the 4 corner posts or lift through the fork pockets with 8ft forks (or fork extensions). Even if it did "pop" and crack in 1 place, it's still 100 times better than any other insulation method. Spend money on 2lb closed cell foam and sleep well at night knowing you made the right choice.

Where did you get that door. I’ve looked all over including your description links, still can’t find it. It looks specifically designed for reefer containers using rivets instead of welding.

Two 40' containers (40x40 footprint) with a roof straddling the containers and garage doors seems like the best use in a container building. What a phenomenal workshop/garage and I would think it would be fairly reasonable.

If the distance between each framing member isn't 16 or 24 inches, you are looking at a lot of work and wasted material when you go to apply roof sheeting, flooring or wall sheeting.

I understand the need to raise them for airflow. You mentioned rodents, do they chew through the plywood floor? Do other animals also chew through the floor (like beavers/groundhogs)? Do you ever find bees/wasps/hornets making huge nests under the floor? My site is very rural and have had problems with all sorts of critters in buildings and heavy equipment..

My containers sit on the high plains desert of southern Wyoming. It's not uncommon to see 50-60 mph+ winds and the frost line is 56". I drilled 60" deep by 12" holes at the corners and then every 8'. I set sonotubes and poured 72" x 12" caissons and then wet-set 1/2" thick weld plates with 36" x 5/8" rebar legs into the tubes. Then I had a massive vertical mast forklift set my containers on the caissons. The containers are now welded to the Earth. I don't own a laser and didn't want to rent one so I made my own bunyip with a milk jug, a 100' of clear hose, and red koolaid. Overall I set 58 sonotubes/caissons and my largest margin of error, using the bunyip, was about 3/16th of an inch on one of my caissons.

Does CMW have window kits if you are framing and insulating on the outside?
@TheContainerGuyTV
@TheContainerGuyTV 3 күн бұрын
Now that we have a container framed on the outside, we're working on it. We have 3 or 4 decent ideas on how to get it done. Until then, you can return your stud or just the window jamb back into the container (table saw PVC) and use edge trim or top bulb seal around the corrugations..

I prefer the shipping container to be at least 24" off the ground so that I can get underneath it to remove any pests that might have crawled under there and died. It also makes it easier if you eventually decide to put anything that needs plumbing in the container.. And then there is the issue of keeping it up high enough for any minor flooding...

If you have the diesels run in the Winter as it will probably happen, why not use their waste heat for heating the community? So having somehtinglike a heatexchanger with extra outlets for a seperate heating/cooling exit.
