I can pull out the key but the cover will not pop off at all! It opens partway but it’s like the other half of the cover is glued in place? I don’t want to break the whole thing trying to get it off. Good idea or bad idea to force it?

Thanks. Final note - my fob still didn't work - needed one more step to fix it. If your car doesn't recognize your key fob once you've changed the battery, insert the key into the driver's side door. Use the key to unlock and then lock the door manually. From there, remove the key from the door and press the "unlock" button. Done!

When I bring my key fob near my car, it does open the car and the motor starts, but sometimes I will get a message on my dashboard that says something like the car is not recognizing my key fob or that my battery is low (something along those lines). Once the battery is replaced, is there any re-programming that needs to be done to properly pair the key fob to the car? Thanks, Steve

Just received my batteries from Amazon today and they worked perfectly 1:06pm

Thank you! Even though I had two key fobs, I inadvertently left one of them in my jeans pockets and failed to notice that before the jeans went into the washer and dryer. I have new batteries on order and expect that will correct the problem. The "washed and dried" battery was pretty rusty.
