The most problematic parts are the generator and gear box which are "cooled" by being full of petroleum oil. Great! That and lightning...even better to destruction of a 7 million dollar 8 to 12 year lifespan, inefficient, highly flammable, unreliable electric generator. Wow even better 😅

There is NOTHING "green" in these infernal machines, Denmark is about to be totally destroyed by these infrasound noisy infernal machines, there are a few people with very deep pockets who earn fat from this scam..The man stands and says that the system itself uses a little over 1Kw before the turbine starts making power!!! it is not a little power as he says, it will be a lot of power during its lifetime, when you see that these hellish machines stand still 60% of the time because agreements have been made to purchase power in other countries, that is that's a scam that wants something, it's unbelievable that people can't see it's a scam of the worst kind, these machines never turn green, blades are buried because they're so toxic that they can't be recycled!!! Well, it's great to get poison in the ground, isn't it! if you look closely, you often see oil leaking out of the clutch where the blades are fixed, if there were finally to be this kind of crap to make electricity then you shouldn't install more than you need, it's too stupid to keep putting them up just because there are people with deep pockets, One of the world's best sound researchers is called Henrik Møller and comes from Denmark, he once said that there MUST be at least 80km to the nearest habitation because these turbines make so much infrasound that people and animals get sick from the noise from them, we get the disease Hyperacusis and when when it hits it's too late to do anything about it, Denmark is destroyed by the noise from these crappy machines, noise everywhere from them plus Denmark is looking like a pilot site for wind turbines, no matter where you look you see these machines in the countryside .

23% capacity factor is terrible. Nuclear is 90% or greater. At 1.7 million euros per 850kw, it would take 8 billion euros worth of these to replace 1 1000mwe power plant, in order to match the mwh equivalent per year. That also doesn't include the lack of reactive power made by wind generators. They have very poor power factors when compared to large synchronous machines.

Yes if you build something wrong you have to compensate that with other things a fact is just useless things, he is talking for 5 years its ROI for building that thing that is not incl themaitenace, a ROI from 1 year can be done but not with this, simply a waste from time money and land scape, thanks for showing how stupid it is.

Is the rotor of the generator just permanent magnets made of rare earths? If it were made with windings and an exciter, how much less efficient would the conversion be? How is the yawing mechanism locked out when people are in the nacelle?

The first one has a critical mistake in its design- there are primary members that won't be activated because there is no rotational restraint at the end supports. The second one is a good minimal design that addresses the main forces. The third one is a straightforward design but would not be as efficient as the second. The fourth one addresses the forces well and appears to be very stiff. The fifth one again makes a mistake by trying to use end rotational restraint that isn't there. The sixth one is a basic truss and will work well if they have executed the joint connections well. It's also going to be very stiff. The last one has a critical design error by not bracing 2 of the truss panels, when they load it you can see excessive local deflection across these 2 panels. Overall though it looks like a lot of fun.

The weak link was the thin board. The solution is to distribute its brittle surface across as many contact points as possible. That means a latticework. The trestle bridge came close.
