Hey. Just found you/this. This was a cool reaction. I found BMTH through my daughter playing that's the spirit. And I hated it. But found Sempiternal,and that was more my thing, never liked deathcore. But I like most their stuff now. These were the gateway for me to go into much heavier sounds. I mean I used to I've old Metallica. Their thrash years. But nothing this heavy. But I love all their style now. Their new album is heavier in parts,but totally different in others. Maybe thatsbthe spirit will be your sins gateway into heavy stuff. I love thatsbthe spirit now btw. Seen them twice and they're amazing live now. Great video though 😊

Best Live Performance I’ve ever seen. Hands Down. Layne was an absolute beast. Never get tired of hearing it. By far the best singer, Alice was the best band out of the 80’s/90s.

"One hit wonders"? Are you serious? They had several incredible songs! This song is about the circle of life. The older woman dies while the new mother is giving birth "down the hall". It's really not a dark song at all.

yeah, I stand by that. They had other good songs but nothing that went even remotely as big as Lightning Crashes. Even looking at Spotify today, their other top songs are songs from that album that got less than half the plays.

Pacific islanders aren't well known for listening to heavy metal but im probably the only one who loves it haha. Especially these guys. I'm from nz myself and im damn proud of them. So happy you got to listen to them.

There's definitely a few out there. I knew Islanders that were into metal from South Auckland. And lots of Maori too because of the musicianship. Even my brother. I knew heaps of Maori that could nail every part of Metallica's "One" and "Nothing else matters" on guitar and drums. I'm the drummer and I have to fish my double kick out whenever I'm jamming with my brother. He's a rocker metaller. I'm more of a funk jazz type player.

You may like their originals better than their covers, given the way you felt about these. Love Again, Be My Eyes, and Coffee in Bed would be a good place to start with those.
